Vital Villa Summer Interview: __villa__

__villa__ steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I started to support Villa when I became introduced to the Premier League. Of course everyone was supporting the top 4 teams at the time. Liverpool, Man. Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal. I figured that its real boring to support those type of teams so I read in a magazine about Villa signing Carew and A. Young. And that really caught my attention, the name was really catchy Aston Villa and it was a team in devolvement. Ever since that article I have been supporting Villa hugely and are my favourite team and will always be in my heart

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?

I think this season has been a bit disappointing. After the wins against Chelsea, and United we all thought that top 4 was a possibility. I guess it wasn't meant to be with results that really just broke my heart. Losing to West Ham, Wigan and drawing against Sunderland in the final part of the season. Otherwise its still very successful to with the Carling Cup final and us finishing 6th was a good result knowing that most experts expected us to finish 7th. I think its been a good season and rather interesting too and I hope that it continues on to next season and push onto a 5th or even 4th place finish.

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?

The best moment was when we beat Chelsea 2-1 and Man. Utd 1-0 at Old Trafford. Probably the highlights of our season. We played extremely well and just a shame that we couldn't play like that all season. Outstanding effort by the team and especially beating Man. Utd for the first time in years. The worst moment was probably losing to Man. Utd in the Carling Cup Final, its a shame that Vidic didn't get sent off and if he did we would of won that game. But still a fantastic achievement in our season.

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?

I see James moving, with probably the City players in the England Squad talking about the wages and the life in City. I would love to see him stay but with City probably offering 28-30 million I think he should leave. I would love it to range at that price since I personally don't see Milner worth the same amount as Rooney and that would give us a lot of money to spend on transfers next season. Hmm City have so many great players but I'm really fearing what's going to happen with our strike force so I would ask about Santa Cruz, amazing player and would sure add something to our squad. If not Cruz, then probably Ireland, Bellamy or Wright-Philips

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?

The type of player I would like is someone that has performed really well in the World Cup. Mostly likely a striker or a midfielder. So far this year I have watched a lot of games this year and Japan's Honda, Ghana's Gyan, Germany's Podolski, Klose all look like our transfer targets and players that would change our team. But I highly doubt that MON will be interested in either these players. I also think we should look at a former City player Elano, he has been outstanding for Brazil and would be a real good replacement for Milner. I think we should take advantage of Portsmouth and also buy K.P. Boateng he would be the player I would like to see in Villa.

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?

Its really tough situation because at some points of the season I do want him to go because he normally mess up transfers and we always fall towards the end of the season. But at the end of the day he is the best man for Villa and he has done a fantastic job. I think that we all realised that when O'Neill was under speculation of him moving. And we were linked with Hughes, and other managers. We all want a Huddink in Villa and that's most likely never going to happen so I do not want MON to leave anytime soon.

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?

I think that Randy has been outstanding with giving MON the funds that we need. We spent the second most money in the transfer window last summer and that would of never been possible without Randy. I also think that we would be fighting against relegation if it wasn't for Randy. I'm sure that we would all want the same riches as City but I'm happy with what we have and Randy and the Board has done an absolutely terrific job. Keeping Milner would be a plus but 30 million is to much to turn down.

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s

My favourite player is actually John Carew. He has adds so much to Villa and all of his interviews are really good. I would hate to see him leave. He is such a cool player too, raises his morale with flashy cars, cloths really knows the fame life. He always scores goals when ever he plays and love his celebrations. My favourite one was when he kicked the corner flag onto a fan. My all time favourite is probably Angel. Probably an odd choice but he was one of my favourite at Villa and he still feels like part of the team. Writing blogs about Villa and everything.

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?

I think we will progress, it might be points, positions, cups, Europe. Don't know but a cup success would be vital and I would take that over Champions League. In positions I hope that Tottenham slip up and we get 5th spot, Liverpool look died and buried and Arsenal might be next. Its all very exciting and I think that money wont buy success and I'm hoping that MON puts more faith in our Young Villains such as Delfouneso and Albrighton. We could get some stars out of our academy and we all want to see them play more.

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!

I love this question, there a lot of fit girls out there. Shakira looked good at the Concert and Megan Fox is always a favourite. But Cheryl Cole gets my vote there, and it works better with Ashley Cole already out of the picture. Just an amazing girl and she always looks stunning
