Vital Villa Summer Interview: Tony Pace

Tony Pace steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

1963 I watched the Villa against the Arsenal and just loved them from then on.

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?
The season has been ok it could have been better. If we had a more tactical manager who could change a game then at least half of those draws would have been wins

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?

Best: The win at Old Trafford
Worst: The Loss to Chelsea in the Semi.

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?
30 million is an excellent price for him. Ireland plus 20 million would be ok.

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?
Keane would help Gabby and score goals, O`hara would be a good buy to replace sidwell and any right back if he intends to let young go. Cuellar is ok but not a right back.

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?
Martin has taken us as far as he can go. He picks the same eleven he seems too scared to rest anyone and his tactics are pretty static to be fair. He doesn`t even help the players by resting them or even subtle changes like Ashley young off the front instead of wide where he tends to be doubled up on.

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?
Randy and the board have been brilliant for the club.

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s

Favourite current player is Ashley Young all time villa Player Brian Little

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?
I am an optimist so I hope that Martin is less of a bonehead next season.

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!
At my age it`s better if I keep that to myself. Celebrity Graham Norton gets on my wick.

was your first Villa game the same as mine? Sept 20 something at Villa Park 3-1 to the Villa. I was standing right up the back of the Witton End. I was 11 at the time and followed Villa ever since. Had a season ticket in the late 70's/80's/early 90's. Now i live in Bangkok and have tosettlefor watching Villa on the TV....
