Vital Villa Summer Interview: leerj0

leerj0 steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Dad was a Holtender when he was younger, but Mum put a stop to that when they got married, but Dad made sure that I was dipped in Claret and Blue.

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?

A mixture of everything, making Europe and two trips to Wembley being good, the bad not having a top class striker and no plan b, ugly, Wigan need I say more.

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?

Best, Blackburn Semi Final at VP, could it get any better!!
Worst see Wigan above

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?

Not sure that he will go, why go to a side that are not in the Champions league and your not guaranteed a game week in week out. If he does go, then no less than 30 million. In return would be happy to take Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha.

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?

Would love to see a top class striker (Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, sorry need to get off my soap box on this one), a creative midfielder (Hleb, Joe Cole) and a defensive midfielder (Parker)

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?

Frustrates the hell out of me, seems to have Plan A only, doesn't trust his fringe players and can be very stubborn. I would have been happy to see him go and I think he has taken the club as far as possible.

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?

Has done a wonderful job in taking the club forward. Has invested in players and facilities what more could we ask for. Most of all Randy seems to be in it for the long haul

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s

Current player is a difficult one, but would say James Milner based on his performances this season, but Richard Dunne would not be far behind. All time it would be Gordon (Sid) Cowans, a player that didn't get the opportunities deserved on the international stage.

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?

No, think we have plateaued at 6th and can only see us competing with likes of Everton, Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham for 4th - 8th places. But can see us slipping down to seventh or eighth as we don't think we have a strong enough squad even without losing players such as NRC and Luke Young in the transfer window.

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!

Katherine Jenkins, like a bit of Welsh (Fear, do not tell the wife), love to thump Alan Green (radio 5 footie commentator)
