Vital Villa Summer Interview: Adbo9

Adbo9 steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

1986 or 87 - My dad and my uncles took me down B6 and I saw Paul Rideout score a diving header - I was hooked !

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?

Good if we'd won the league cup, but as we lost - indifferent....... Once again under MON very poor home record which has got to be improved...

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?

Sadly enough winning at Old Trafford for the first time in 25 or so years was a highlight, and worst moment for me was the week we dropped 4 points at home to Wolves n Sunderland.

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?

My opinion on James Milner is he's vastly over-rated and wildly over-hyped by the Villa Park masses. I'd snatch there hands off at the opening 20M, but seeing as its Man City, either take Ireland or Bellamy as well. If not I reckon we'd get 27M or so out of them and get him gone.

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?

Realistically, Robbie Keane would be an excellent foil with gabby. David Bentley would add another dimension and I think we need some better options off the bench, as our squad players like Sidwell, Reo, Davies aren't good enough.

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?

Similar opinion to James Milner. Massively over-hyped. Wasted a tinload of money, but at the same time bought some good players. He's a decent manager doing a decent job, that's as far as id go.

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?

Fantastic PR job they've done at villa, and we've spent a lot of money. I don't think the players we've signed are any better than the previous regimes, but they seem better as they cost lots more money in the current market. Personally, on the playing side I don't think we've done anything out of the ordinary that we haven't done under Ellis.

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s

Favourite current player is a tossup between Richard Dunne and Stilyan Petrov. Both just ooze class as players and people for me. Favourite all-time players, toughie obviously McGrath, but I also loved Platty, Milosevic, Staunton, Yorkie, Townsend, Richo. Garry Parker and Ian Taylor

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?

No, I think were about where we are with the funds we have to play with and the management staff in place, who still haven't sorted a terrible home record in 4 years !!!

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!

I'd bang Tina from Corrie right before nailing Rachel Stevens........ and if I had to knock anyone out it would have to be David Beckham.........
