Vital Villa Summer Interview: Joe Whitticase

Vital Villa Summer Interview: Joe Whitticase

Joe Whitticase steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

When I was born. My family's split between Blues and Villa. Turns out I made the right choice.

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?

It was a great season. Its Villa's best season I have seen (which isn't hard since I'm only 16). No one can say that getting 6th place and going to Wembley twice is a bad season.

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?

Best has got to be the win at Old Trafford.
Worst is between losing at Wembley twice and the 7-1 against Chelsea.

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?

I don't think he will go. He doesn't play for the money and I think he has got more sense than Barry. If he did go I would want at least 30 million + Ireland, Wright-Phillips, Richards, Joe Hart and Robinho.

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?

Ireland, Hart, Robinho, Van Der Wiel, O'hara, Zamora, Dzeko and Keane.

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?

I think he is the best manager we are going to get at this stage. Until someone like Mourinho or Capello becomes interested in joining Villa we should keep O'Neill.

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?

They are excellent. You just have to look at Liverpool and Man Utd to see what could of happened if we had the wrong owners. The way he keeps to our history and upgrades the stadium is top class. I also liked the idea of free scarves, flags etc.

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s

Favourite player now is Ashley Young because he is the only player in the team that can create something out of nothing. My favourite of all time is Peter Schmeichel. As much as i like Friedel I think that if we had someone that has the quality of Schmeichel now we would be in the top 4.

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?

Yes. I think we will finish 5th behind Man City but will beat Spurs in the F.A. cup final.

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!

Cheryl Cole/Tweedy and between Alex Ferguson and Tim Westwood.

With thanks to Joe Whitticase
