Vital Villa Summer Interview: odowdk5

Vital Villa Summer Interview: odowdk5

odowdk5 steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I became a Villa fan at the start of the 1993/4 season due to their big Irish connection at the time (Staunton, Houghton, Townsend and McGrath) and Dwight Yorke - needless to say I live in Dublin.

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?

Great season - can`t really understand what all the pessimism was about - particularly at the start of the season. Villa have not had the best of home records obviously but they keep going until the end and always give value for money.

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?

Best - Being at the League Cup Final, the 6-4 and to see JT stamp around like a baby after Collin`s goal against Chelsea.

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?

I personally do not think he will go to City this Summer (though I fear he may next Summer if City get champs league). There are a number of City players I would take in exchange if he was to go - Bellamy, SWP, GB, Petrov (not really a MON player though), Richards or Stephen Ireland

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?

My shopping list would be something along the following: Defence: Richards, Midfield: Ireland, SWP and Parker. Strikers: Keane and Doyle/Cole

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?

The guy is a legend - always makes defeats easier to take by being honest and sensible unlike O`Leary. Only complaint is playing Carlos at RB and giving Heskey so many games

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?

Best around bar none

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s
Current Player(s): Milner and Dunne

All time: McGrath, Laursen and Yorkie

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?

I expect to come 7th

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!
Male celeb to punch - combination of JT and Lamps - prob JT more so

Most like to bang - its gotta be Anna Kournikova
