ExpatVillaShirt steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Up til age 14 I'd kind of half-heartedly supported Sunderland as did most of my mum's side of the family, but I found out about the family connection - my great granddad was a Villa striker ! And so I saw the light, and have been a Villan since that glorious day in the 80's !

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?

First half of the season I thought we did well, a few unconvincing wins and a few superb ones like Liverpool and Chelsea. But unfortunately a few too many points dropped as well, especially second half of the season. Considering the amount of money Citeh have spent though, 6th again is a decent finish.

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?

Best - Beating ManUre and beating the Blues twice. Finishing above Liverpool, heheh.
Worst - going out of Europe so early, losing 7-0 to Chelsea... ow...

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?

Quite possibly, depending on his performance at the World Cup. I'm a big fan of James and think he's been a superb signing for us both times, would be sad to see him go but if he wants to try somewhere else I say let's take the cash and invest it wisely. I'm sure no-one would wish him ill given the great service he's given us. Good luck either way Jimmy, and good luck this summer. He's probably worth 20-25 mil now but after a good WC, who knows ? Would like to see Ireland move the other way if he goes to the Blues, I think MON would get him back to form.

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?

We need two strikers - actual real ones, wot scores goals innit. A really creative midfielder. And about 8 or 9 more signings for the strength in depth we just don't have, and has let us down 3 seasons running.

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?

I think MON is a good motivator, he's turned around more than a few wayward careers, and I think our rebirth from the doldrums to the top 6 says it all. I think he plays the same starting line up because it's our best one.. outside that we suffer. But I'll stand on his toes if he doesn't look abroad for signings. He's signed as many duffers as good 'uns.

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?

Couldn't be happier. A real gent, has done so many little things for our great club. Plays the part of owner properly - delegates running of the team to those that know how to run it.

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s

At the moment, Mr Milner. Or maybe super Brad. All time ?
Juan Pablo for his one amazing season, Olly, maybe Dion Dublin for nutting Robbie Savage that time. Bit too young to remember Peter Withe but looking back on the players of that time, they were superb. Merson.

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?

Without investment and cutting some dead wood, we might struggle to get 6th again, and losing a couple of key players won't help. But I'm staying positive - we can challenge for 4th spot again.

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!

Katy Perry. Mmmmmmmmmmm... dribble. As for who I'd like to thump most - Simon Cowell. If you can call him a celebrity.
