Vital Villa Summer Interview: I am a Villan

Vital Villa Summer Interview: I am a Villan

I am a Villan steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I became a Villa fan the moment I really understood the beautiful game around about 2-3, I became a fan because a few of family members were and i went to watch my first game against Nottingham Forest I think an that since then I supported Villa.

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?

I think overall it was okay, i am disappointed in not getting fourth because if you look at the table it was so close and if O'Neil had bought that bit of quality upfront we may have got that top four spot. The positives are that we went to wembley not once but twice! and we kept up the pressure on the teams aiming for top four, overall we have had a pretty good season.

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?

Best - Definitely going to wembley for the carling cup final, and lets not forget getting the double over Birmingham
Worst - Without a doubt the 7-1 hammering Chelsea gave us, i was hiding for a long time from blues and wolves fans.

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?

I am really not sure about this, my heart tells me yes but my head tells me no, i would love him to stay but he might just do a Barry on go for the money and could think he has more chance of silverware with the funds they have. I think we are not going to let him go easy, 30m i think may be the overall the price but realistically i think i would accept 25m and the player of choice would have to be Stephen Ireland, will fit straight into his position and add more attacking presence to our team, lets hope he stays though.

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?

Well first of definitely a striker i think everyone agrees with that, the strikers we have now aren't good enough, I would 'Like' Radamel Falcao or Klass Jan Huntelaar someone in that frame who are proven goalscorers and will add that bit of quality but realistically it will be hard to attract those sort of players in our position. Keane and Cole may be the two come and my opinion Cole is no better than Carew and Keane is past his best so will be a step backwards for the club. We also need something different in central midfield and on the wings, downing and young are to obvious and we need a player like Yossi Benayoun on the flanks.

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?

I think he is a good manager and always backed him, he does get a lot wrong but so does all the best managers, his style of football is boring but look at Josť Mourinho? He is good for villa but it is getting to a point now where he may have took us as far as he can, also some of transfers are a bit poor but then we have Milner, Young, Dunne and Friedel who are all good.

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?

Very good so far but will all his funds dry out and leave us with little in the upcoming seasons? it may well happen and find us sliding down the table. but so far one of the best boards if not the best in the country.

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s

James Milner and Richard Dunne definitely at the moment both been fantastic this season and saved us allot of times, will be key players next season unless Milner leaves.

Favourite all time players, this is a tough one there's so many there is the recent generation like martin Laursen and Mellberg but i always liked Dublin, Merson and angel for some reason don't know about others and you can't forget the likes of McGrath

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?

I really don't know at the moment, if we keep Milner and get 2 - 3 players to come into the first team and improve us then we could get 4 -5 but if the likes of Keane, Cole come in and Milner leaves then i say 6,7,8 for us next year will be a very tough year.

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!

Nice question :P, definitely Megan fox for me but then theirs Cheryl Cole, but defo Megan fox and the celebrity to thump would be erm him of twilight Robert Pattison got to be!

With thanks to I am a Villan
