Vital Villa Summer Interview: Lee Barnett

Vital Villa Summer Interview: Lee Barnett

Lee Barnett steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

ever since i was born, it was a family thing

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?

Good season, wembley twice, european spot and being in the race for forth until the second from last game of the season. A really good start with a poor finish always leaves an overcast to a good season.

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?
Best moment for me was when we beat Blackburn in the semi final of the league cup, the atmosphere was terrific.
Worst was obviously losing at wembley twice, but saying that, the two days that we were there were brilliant.

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?

in all honesty i don't think villa can say no to the offer that man city have offered already, push for another 5 million and i think man city have a deal. Obviously i would like to keep hold of milner for as long as we can as i think he will become an important part of our future. Price also depends on how good he is in the world cup.

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?
I'm not going to mention names that i would like to see come in because that will just lead to a debate, but we need a striker, right back and if milner goes i hope MON makes the right decision in what player to pick from man city

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?
I like him, IMO there's no one else better that we can get to take over. Stick with him and keep the faith.

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?
they are doing good things for the club, the fans seem happy so I'm happy.

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s
Richard Dunne, i think he's had a great season. When we signed him i was not so sure, given his track record with going into the ref's book. But he has been solid all season and will be even better next season.

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?

depends on who we manage to keep/bring into the club

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!

Cheryl Cole!! for as long as she has no where to sit my face could be her seat!!
Amanda Holden is the celeb I'd like to thump, i cant stand her!

With thanks to Lee Barnett
