Vital Villa Summer Interview: Benham

Vital Villa Summer Interview: Benham
Benham steps up for the Vital Villa members interviews.

Q: When did you become a Villa fan and why?

For the life of me I can't remember the year but the 1st game I saw us play, albeit on tele, was 6-2 over Everton....was getting into football and inspired by my brother to follow the Villa and I liked their colours!

Q: The season just gone, good bad or ugly? What did you think of it?

1 final, 1 semi final more points than last but still 6th.......IMO we had a better chance than last to finish higher, Spuds getting 4th is a kick in the balls.....but the wins at mould traffic, shamfield and the sty made it a bit better

Q: Best and worst moment of last season?

Best - beating liverpoo away
worst - Chelsea away

Q: James Milner... is he off do you think? If so, what price (realistically) should Villa hold out for? If off to Man City, which - if any - of their players would you want in exchange?

If he wants to go he'll go, I think we should wait until after the WC and get as high a price as we can, anything about 30m would be good business IMO. If we do deal with city I wouldn't say no to either Richards, SWP or Ireland.

Q: What signings (type of player or specific name/s if you wish) would you like to see Villa buy this summer?

A goal scorer, Darren bent would be my 1st choice but don't think the price would be right. Robbie Keane would also be welcome and I'm a fan of Yossi Benayoun (sp)

Q: Where do you stand on Martin O'Neill (I don't mean literally, that would be assault) ?

The marmite man.....I don't believe for 1 second that he doesn't but have the clubs best interests at heart so I'm happy with him as manager, however he can be very frustrating and stubborn

Q: Your opinion of Randy and the board?

love em........turning this club around since the Ellis era

Q: Favourite current player and favourite all time player/s

current - Milner
all time - Bosnich, McGrath, Saunders, Cowan's and Merson

Q: Do you expect progress next season, difficult to answer before the transfer window closes I know?

Can't call it, deep down I think we'll stand still but depends what happens in the window

Q: Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!

Myley Cryus to bang and Billy Ray to thump (so I stand a better chance)

Maybe her dad is a bit over protective. A thump might not be a good idea as it might need two or three to keep him quiet.
