Vital Villan Mid Season Interview: D8ost

D8ost takes the Vital Villan mid-season interview:
1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

3.2.83 when I was born, it comes with the family, either you’re a Villa fan or none at all :)

2) What do you think of this season, do we have the chance to push on or will we slip up like last season?

I think the season has been magnificent, going out of Europe was the best thing to happen to us even though I wasn’t thinking that when I was standing in the terrace in Vienna watching Nicky Shorey be the best Villa player on the pitch.

I think we will trail away like last season, if we win the Carlin Cup then we might push on and get 5th

3) Best moment/s of this season so far?

Beating Man Utd away

4) Worst moment/moments of this season so far?

Watching Villa get beat by Rapid Vienna, my football teammates (I live and play in Vienna) will never let me forget who knocked us out of Europe.

5) Do you expect any arrivals this January (bearing in mind MON has indicated not) and IF you could bring in a player or two, who (realistically) would you go for?

Definitely no signings.

Want realistically Huntelaar on Loan to buy in summer if he cuts the mustard, and maybe Rafael van der Vaart on the same deal. If we can get Bellamy I would be over the moon.

6) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer? And do you think Villa will spend enough this summer to progress?

I think MON has a strange transfer policy but he has done well so far. But I think he has too much faith in Carew and Gabby, they are not top 4 strikers, maybe not even top 10. I would like to see Bellamy in a villa shirt and Keane in the summer. Then maybe a new keeper if Older brad has a bad second half of the season, but he's doing great so far!

7) If we made the Carling Cup final, who would you most like to face Manchester United or Manchester City?

For me Man Utd, they aren't the same without Ronny, and if we can keep Rooney quiet then we have a chance. City are too unpredictable for me and Tevez could rip us apart.

8) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?

Premier League: 6th
FA Cup: quarters
Carling Cup: win

9) Your opinion on Martin O'Neill now he is mid way through his 4th season in charge?

Love the guy. hope he can continue to push on. Small squad is not an excuse anymore and I'm happy with the depth. We just need to find extra quality (not easy to do!).

10) Your opinion on Randy Lerner and his board?

Couldn’t have a better owner. Hate anyone who criticizes him or the General. How many clubs can communicate with a director every day????? I think Randy will be around for a long time and I'll be happy all the time he is!

11) Favourite current player?

Milner, loved him when he was on loan and now MON has made him into a match winner. Perfect professional, doesn’t drink and runs his socks off

12) Favourite former player/s?

Dean Saunders, Paul McGrath (my boyhood hero as I was centre half as well)

13) Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which (male I would think) celeb would you most like to thump!?!

Bang: Angeline Joeli - what a pair!!!

Thump: R Savage

With thanks to D8ost
