Vital Villan Mid Season Interview: Stig

Vital Villan Mid Season Interview: Stig

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

30/10/1981 – the day I was born into a family of Villans.

2) What do you think of this season, do we have the chance to push on or will we slip up like last season?

Personally I will be very happy with winning a trophy, and consolidating 6th position again. We are starved of cup success, it would be a good notch on the bed post for us, and also good for MON’s tenure as manager.

Securing at least UEFA Cup action for next season is very important to us as well, it further proves our stability and credentials in the league, and abroad to prospective players potentially inbound this summer.

Anything more will be a pleasurable bonus.

3) Best moment/s of this season so far?

1. The scenes at Villa Park and celebrations after beating Blackburn to book our place in the final of the Carling Cup.

2. John Terry’s girly, stompy, toddler like, toys out the pram, hissy fit, tantrum as they conceded the 2nd goal. What a tool.

3. United away. FINALLY !!!

4) Worst moment/moments of this season so far?

Getting destroyed by Arsenal……..I mean ‘The Cesc Fabregas Show’, and robbed by the scousers.

5) Do you expect any arrivals this January (bearing in mind MON has indicated not) and IF you could bring in a player or two, who (realistically) would you go for?

If Gardener goes, (he maybe having his medical at the Bloooooouuse as I write this) me may get a peculiar squad signing none of us saw coming. Australia’s answer to Pele maybe?

It is quite clear clubs are very reluctant to do any kind of business this January, ins or outs.

6) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer? And do you think Villa will spend enough this summer to progress?

Tough question; but undoubtedly we are a few ‘world class signings’ away from being a very serious team in the Premier League and Europe when you consider how good out first 11 can be on their day. However, we are screaming out for our own Van Nistelrooy or Owen – not suggesting we go for either, we need to sign our own legend! We need another ‘Yorke’, but not a mutinous ‘Yorke’ that will sell his soul to the devil to go and play for United with the first hint of them being interested.

Enter; David Villa. (Imagine the revenue from shirt sales, and marketing alone). MON, MR Faulkner, Randy take note!

Also Milan Jovanovich wouldn’t go a miss because Carew will undoubtedly be shipped out.

Back up for Warnock as Bouma looks to have played his last game for us, NRC will be off home to London this summer – mark my words! Hopefully Scott Parker will be coming the other way to help Petrov's ageing legs (however good he has been this season again, he needs support/competition for his position as we consider the future).

It is definitely time to stop flirting, and teasing Stephen Daffour as well.

I make that about 55m. Fingers crossed, but MON has to go for it at some point doesn’t he? Surely? AAAgggghh go aaarrrn !!!!

Show the door to Shorey, Harewood, Salifou, NRC, Carew – anyone who is taking a wage and not contributing, staking their claim, and earning their place at our club.

7) Who would you most like to face Manchester United or Manchester City at Wembley?

Man Ure in the final for me. Nobody can say we don’t deserve it then.

8) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?

Premier League: 5th or 6th
FA Cup: Knocked out by Chelsea in the Semi’s.
Carling Cup: WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN

9) Your opinion on Martin O'Neill now he is mid way through his 4th season in charge?

Built a very good team, its very much his team now, so he will be judged accordingly. He frustrates me sometimes with his stubbornness, and reluctance to use his squad, but overall none of us can have any complaints can we?

Consider where we were before he came in, and consider where we are now.

Can he kick us on to the top 4 though? Only time will tell.

10) Your opinion on Randy Lerner and his board?

Top Draw, can’t thank them enough for what they have done for our club. I sleep easier at night knowing Randy has the keys under his pillow!!!

11) Favourite current player?

Milner – by a nautical mile. He lives and dies to play the game and wear the shirt. Future Villa Captain/Legend, and has to be a contender for next England Captain by the next World Cup 2014.

12) Favourite former player/s?

Laursen, Mellberg, Angel, Savo, Tayls…. The list could be endless.

13) Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which would you most like to thump!?!

Kat Deeley – Bang……..BANG BANG BANG BANG !!!

Jordan AKA Katie ‘name the’ Price – Thump, STAMP, RYUKEN!!!!!!!!!

With thanks to Stig
