Vital Villan Mid Season Interview: Sheriff Kimbo

Sheriff Kimbo couldn't pass up the opportunity to offer more of his inane rambling to the Vital Villa community:

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

No choice. That is just how it is in the Kimberley family. My Grandad's uncle actually played for the Villa many, many, many moons ago!

2) What do you think of this season, do we have the chance to push on or will we slip up like last season?

We're slipping up already! The season has been fine, I would take 6th again with silverware this time. I just worry that this and last season were our best opportunities for Champions League football.

3) Best moment/s of this season so far?

Winning at Old Trafford was ace, obviously; so that wins as the best. There have been quite a few good moments though.

4) Worst moment/moments of this season so far?

Unfortunately there have been some rubbish moments too! Worst though? That Torres goal. Against most clubs it would have been bad enough but that shower... sigh.

5) Do you expect any arrivals this January (bearing in mind MON has indicated not) and IF you could bring in a player or two, who (realistically) would you go for?

No. As for players in... the thing is, we have a good side. A side that, player for player, I would take over a lot of teams. The players we need to sign are players that are better than what we have. I would certainly like to see some of the younger players get a push. All that said, I don't envy MON here - you ask me who I would realistically go for and I am largely uninspired on who we could get that would improve us.

6) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer? And do you think Villa will spend enough this summer to progress?

Well it looks like we're potless doesn't it! I don't know. As I have just said, we probably will struggle there. A change in tactics and a bit more faith in youth may make us progress. Hey, I was in quite a good mood when I started this, feeling a bit fed up now!

7) If we made the Carling Cup final, who would you most like to face Manchester United or Manchester City?

Man City. I know United lost the first leg but they really are the better side. That said, if Rooney got injured...

8) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?

Premier League: 6th

A Cup: At least 5th round...

Carling Cup: Win it! Why not.

9) Your opinion on Martin O'Neill now he is mid way through his 4th season in charge?

My opinion is that he has done as good a job as he is probably capable of, and that I have generally been pleased. Contrary to what some people say about us, I have been entertained a fair bit too. But I do not think he is capable of taking us any further. Would be delighted to be proven wrong, though. That said, dunno who I think we could realistically get in to replace him that I am confident would do a better job. Roy Hodgson maybe but he not long signed a new contract didn't he?

10) Your opinion on Randy Lerner and his board?

They've been ace. The financial thing concerns me a bit. But they have been brilliant up to now, couldn't ask for more really.

11) Favourite current player?

Richard Dunne is fast becoming a favourite but it's James Milner. I love the man! The editor of another particular Villa site spent a lot of time slagging him off and I never understood why; it's good to say 'I told you so' sometimes!

12) Favourite former player/s?

Paul McGrath is the stand out, closely followed by Gordon Cowans. I could go on for hours though!

13) Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which would you most like to thump!?!

Bang? Lily Allen. Seriously, I think I have become obsessed, its frightening!

Thump? Rafa Benitez is probably the current number one on the ever changing, ever growing list of dozens and dozens!

Pow? I just wanted to make it look like an old episode of Batman...
