'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vital Villan Mid Season Interview: Adam Clarke

Adam Clarke is next up with the Vital Villa mid-season interview:

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

My first game was back in November 1989 when we played Coventry City and won 4-2, Ian Ormondroyd scored a hat-trick. I had only got into football that year, and the first game I watched in full was that years FA Cup Final between Coventry and Spurs and caught the bug. My family are all baggies fans, but didn't want to support them, and all my mates were gloryhunting Liverpool fans and didn’t want to follow the crowd, so I picked the nearest team to where I live. I've been a season ticket holder ever since (21 years).

2) What do you think of this season, do we have the chance to push on or will we slip up like last season?

Before the Arsenal game, I really thought this season would be the one where we would break into the Sky 4, I wouldn't say I'm having any doubts, but am getting a little worried that it may be happening all over again.

3) Best moment/s of this season so far?

Liverpool away, Chelsea at home and Man Ure away. Richard Dunne scoring against Citeh is high on the list too.

4) Worst moment/moments of this season so far?

Losing to Arsenal and Liverpool, and everytime Heskey starts.

5) Do you expect any arrivals this January (bearing in mind MON has indicated not) and IF you could bring in a player or two, who (realistically) would you go for?

No, but I would love a striker, Van Nistelrooy or Gudjohnsen would be nice.

6) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer? And do you think Villa will spend enough this summer to progress?

See above

7) If we made the Carling Cup final, who would you most like to face Manchester United or Manchester City?

Manchester United

8) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?

Premier League: Heart says 4th, head says 5th

FA Cup: Semi's

Carling Cup: Winners

9) Your opinion on Martin O'Neill now he is mid way through his 4th season in charge?

With the exception of one or two disappointing signings, he's everything I wanted him to be (Heskey and Sidwell). Can't believe some fans were questioning his ability and in some cases still are.

10) Your opinion on Randy Lerner and his board?

Couldn't have asked for a better chairman, or board. I think the fact they are quite happy to interact with fans on messageboards etc is a great move. I bet some other clubs (one in particular, would love to have owners as good as ours)

11) Favourite current player?

Toss up between Dunne and Downing

12) Favourite former player/s?

God, Mellberg, Laursen, JPA, Chris Price, Dean Saunders and Sicknote.

13) Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which would you most like to thump!?!

I'd seriously bang any female Sky Sports News presenter and I'd thump Simon Cowell for ruining Xmas every year
!!!.
