Vital Villan Interviews: Meakers

Vital Villan Interviews: Meakers
meakers takes the Vital Villan interview:

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

It must of been when I was younger, maybe about 7ish, back in primary school other kids had villa tops on when we played football, so I said I want one to my parents and then ended up having my sisters top with muller on. Then one day I was ill and the results cam on tv and I think we beat West brom 4-0 (i think, thats all i remember, someone may remember) and it cheered me up. Ever since I followed the club. No one in my family is a football fan, so I never had anyone to take me, so about 6 years ago my mom got me a season ticket and I sat next to her friend from work. I went up with him for about 4 years, now i go up by myself with a friend of mine a few rows behind me.

2) Best moment/moments as a Villa fan?

Best moment I must admit the aftermath V blues, the cahill goal was just brilliant, if someone from the top 4 did that it would be shown all the time. I must admit also I have enjoyed the uefa cup home games this year and I went to prague that was fun

3) Worst moment/moments as a Villa fan?

Losing to blues, Ellis - especially when we had Graham Taylor in his second spell, i truly believe ellis never backed him , never supported him so he had his hand tied behind his back
Laursen retiring - heart breaking
Barry leavin - dis-heartening

4) Best and worst away ground visited?

I've been to a few good grounds

Best - Wembley (not with villa) , with villa i would say pragues new stadium
Worst - portsmouth

5) What did you think of last season? Good, bad or indifferent and do you think we progressed?

I think we progressed in terms of having a strong first eleven but for overall progress, I would say its minimal, we still hae a small squad, we showed we could compete with our first 11 , but not with our squad. Im starting to wonder if O'Neil can work the transfer market, I'm really dis-heartened by laursen retiring, barry going, rumours of ashley young, and bouma retiring. I dont know If martin can replace players with enough quality and I question if he has any balls to use or buy, youth/ inexperienced players. Not pleased with Randy saying Mon has a job for life, that does not keep the manager on his toes, I just hope Randy can plough more money in the club

6) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer? And do you think Villa will spend enough this summer to progress?

Would not mind if dunne and upson came in, this may mean knight would leave which is a shame but we need to push on. I'm looking around and would love to see Rafael Van Daar Vaart come in, he struggled for fitness and games at real, he would provide so much quality let alone a wow signin which were crying out for.
Signings: upson, defour, Van dar vaart, moutino , veloso, delph, bentley and i'll take chance on owen

7) What do you expect next season?

Premier League:7th
FA Cup:final
Europa League: First round of knock-out bit
Carling Cup: 1/4 finals

8) Your opinion on Martin O'Neill now he is approaching his 4th season in charge?

Has done well, not great but well. A half decent manager would be there or theres about where MON has taken us. Do have my doubts but like many has said this year is so important for MON and this could determine if he is here in the 5th season.

9) Your opinion on Randy Lerner and his board?

Has done brilliantly, but do wonder if he would be willing to use his own money to larger extents to push us forward. Would be brilliant if we had him as chairman and bill gates as an investor lol

10) Favourite current player?

Hmmmmmmm interesting, barry was my fav, so now I woul have to say bouma

11) Favourite former player/s?

haha Barry, Merson , Yorke , laursen , god and Ian taylor

12) Gareth Barry, what do you think of his departure?

Well I think he was right to move look at city signings and who they are being linked with Robinho, de jong, given , tevez etc, then look at us huddlestone, bentley , harewood, salifou. I think barry has though are villa likely to be ambitous and sign tevez sort of players? no? are citeh yes!

I think the money was an added bonus, citeh gave him 110k a week we offered 90k , like a 20k, which is like a million pound diff, then with taz on his citeh wages would drop his wages down , so i dont buy the money factor (mind the pun). With barry going claiming ambition as his reason is what makes me worry

13) Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang?!

Hayley Williams ( paramore lead singer) check her out if you not heard of her

With thanks to meakers
