Vital Villan Interviews: villaman187
Alex Birch takes the Vital Villan interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I became a Villa fan when I was taken to my first football game ever which was Chelsea vs. Villa at Stamford bridge in 2003, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank scored the winner :(

2) Best moment/moments as a Villa fan?

hmm that's a toughie I'd have to say beating the blues 2-1 and 5-1 last year, absolutely brilliant I've never celebrated so much in my life, I also loved it this season when we relegated Newcastle but nothing beats beating the blues

3) Worst moment/moments as a Villa fan?

getting knocked out the Carling Cup semi-final by Bolton, getting beat by Blues twice in 2004/05

4) Best and worst away ground visited?

Best - Old Trafford
Worst - St Andrews

5) What did you think of last season? Good, bad or indifferent and do you think we progressed?

ermm I think last season we progressed slightly, the first half of the season was absolutely brilliant it looked as if we were definitely going to get into the Champions League but it fell to bits in the 2nd half but i think we have progressed

6) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer? And do you think Villa will spend enough this summer to progress?

It looks like Michael Owen might be coming to villa which for me if he gets back fully fit and O'Neill boosts his confidence I think he would be a quality signing and will be good for him because he can get back into the england squad, we need a solid defender like lescott and a big replacement for Barry I know we have been linked with Hleb he would be a brill signing

7) What do you expect next season?

Premier League: 7th
FA Cup: 4th round
Europa League: quater final
Carling Cup: winners

8) Your opinion on Martin O'Neill now he is approaching his 4th season in charge?

So far so good for O'Neill, year by year he is improving Villa's league position. The only thing I would have to criticise O'Neill about is his transfer policy buying young English players, not that there is anything wrong with that we need more young English players for our future but we also need foreigners to make us better

9) Your opinion on Randy Lerner and his board?

USA!! Lerner is a legend turned the side from when he first brought it mid table team to a top 5 team competing for the Champions League

10) Favourite current player?

Ashley young for sure, the boy is a genius if he leaves then in my opinion O'Neill should leave

11) Favourite former player/s?

Juan Pablo Angel, Darius Vassell, Martin Laursen, Olof Mellberg

12) Gareth Barry, what do you think of his departure?

Barry left on a very sour note, he said he wanted champions league and Liverpool were interested and I think villa fans accepted that he was going to go to them and then all of a sudden within 24 hours turns to Man City who finished below villa and not in Europe, he blatantly went for the money which to me is a joke, expect boo's when Man City come to Villa Park

13) Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang?!

haha that is a toughie I'd have to say Danielle Lloyd, she's very nice even though she's a scouse

With thanks to Alex Birch

7th place in Prem you say... i say your wrong, i can see MON actually spending cash and bringing in some class players for once, i would like to see Sturridge back at Villa on a free, and Owen on a free, then i would like to see Defour 10m to replace Barry, and then Tuncay for 2.5m, then perhaps bring in Richards and Dunn..... Harewood out if we get Sturridge.
