'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Storm Clouds Gathering?

By Beefy:

With the developments in trying to and unsuccesfully agreeing to renew Bakkes loan, the takeover not being as fluid as it should be, it being confirmed that no players are joining us, players leaving left right and centre apparently just to trim the wage bill and some very odd financial results in the past few years, one question NEEDS to be answered -

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG AT THE CLUB AND WHAT IS BEING DONE TO RECTIFY IT?

Something very terminal is wrong at the club that none of us are party to and it's off-the pitch financial issues. Come clean Ellis. Please.

Maybe we need someone to start probing deeper into this?

I'm sure I'm not over reacting here, but I have a nasty gut feeling something horrible is going to hit us.

Was Danrenshaw answered:

There has been a disease around for along time now and we all know who it is Doug!

Fletched asked:

Is it Just Aston Villa FC?

Look at the bigger picture in the Midlands.

Coventry, scaled down new ground due to cost, skint and nobody wants to take over from the sick Chairman.

small heath, had a couple of rubbish take-overs before the present porn king owners, still short of their promises to invest. They don`t own a training ground and sty andrews main stand is a monument to its supporters. The three owners are in the top ten UK rich list ? One major upset off the council and there off down the M1-40.

Wolves, one good owner but the money needed now is out of their range. Nobody wants them!

West Brom, run like a working mans club for years. still have not enough backing for the Premiership.

Leicester, no ivestment since the new ground, nearly out of business until big ears stepped in ?

Walsall, good little club but no money for higher ambitions ?

Swindon, skint and even though there on the edge of the midlands no big money ever put in ?

Nottingham Forest. David Platt nearly finished them off money wise, good investment in the new stadium and training ground but all that nearly put them out of business. Still no takers ?

Notts County, 'The Oldest AFC in the World?' lucky to be alive. still dying ?

Stoke City, I smell fish, again good stadium no money to push on. ?

Port Vale, Robbie Williams where are you!!

The Midland football clubs are not a hot bed for investment for some reason. Apart from Stoke no foreign money finds it way to the heart of England.

Danvilla answered:

Good points about the other clubs. But we are on a different scale to all those. We are a different club, we have better income, a bigger fan base, bigger stadium capacity, we own everything.

All we have is a chairman who won't invest sufficiently to take us places, and obviously with a bit of re-organisation Langham style, I see no reason why AVFC PLC can not make a profit.

Villa Moose says the problem is:

Our problem is that we have a chairman who:

a) Will not speculate to accumulate (eg Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd)

b) Has no money of his own to invest (eg Chelski, The company who own Spurs, Boro)

AV reminded us:

Our record at the moment is 1 defeat in 9 and the team is finally beginning to play.

It's not all doom and gloom you know.
