Only if we bring in a replacement for him. We have a paper thin squad as it is and to ship players out and not replace them makes no sense what so ever.

I think this is where the importance of the Academy or the scouting network is an issue. If Villa are to play in a certain style then it is important to have cover/replacement for Carew. We are in need of a young, similar style forward. Who when required, can step up to the plate to take his chance. In Gabi, Moore and Young we have an excellent selection of young English talent. What we need is someone to compete for a role with Carew. Ashton or Nugent spring to mind.

No rush, no need for any hasty decisions or knee jerk reactions. When we've a squad thats overflowing with talent, then might be the time to look at and evaluate the future of the likes of JPA, but until then, lets sit tight with what we've got, and build on that.

I think that Juan Pablo still has twelve months remaining on his existing deal, so from his own personal point of view, it wouldn't make sense to move on unless any suitors were prepared to match his currentl salary, which is something I would doubt.
