'If It's Football, It's Vital'

British Forces Lions Club

Alan Perrins, who some of you might remember was nominated as one of the football fans of the year a while back in a nationwide search and others might know as the Lions Club co-ordinator, has come up with a plan which has now come to fruition to set up a British Forces Lions Club. General Charles Krulak said on the official site: "Having spent 39 years in uniform myself, I understand the sacrifice each member of the forces makes for the United Kingdom and I salute that sacrifice."

"I am proud of you and proud of what you do each day for your country. Two years ago, I became a director of Aston Villa and have now experienced the same sort of comradeship that I found in the Marine Corps. Because of a desire to share that comradeship, we are beginning the British Forces Lions Club and invite you to join us."

Adding, "I promise that there will be no 'deployments' to foreign lands...unless it is to Europe. Please join me in becoming a member of Martin O'Neill's Claret and Blue Army."

What an interesting innovation. Once again, well done the club. Compare these board members to those involved in the Ellis years. No comparison is there?
