Vital Villan Interviews: Shortshadyuk
Shortshadyuk is next up with the Vital Villan interviews:

1 - How long have you been a Villa fan and how did you first get the Claret & Blue faith?

Ever since i was about 7-8, before that I supported Arsenal, but i came to my senses when we sat in the playground and looked into a merlin sticker album; not only did Tony Daley have my birthday, but he played in my position for England no less!

2 - What was your first game?

It was Villa vs Inter Milan, I saw the other leg on Tv and it was fascinating seeing them up against HUGE names of world football!, Hopefully it shall happen again.

3 - What is your most memorable moment as a Villa fan?

For me having seen my first game against Inter Milan, it was the recent game against them where we skinned them alive, it's not so much the game but I shall always remember the chant when their physio came on in a suit lol

4 - And the worst moment?

People say its Enklemans Error but I think its the Cup game at Old Trafford when we didn't have a keeper and got the Palace Hungarian on loan Gabor Kiraly; his blunder cost us and more importantly me 50 as i thought we'd get a win :-(

5 - Who are your favourite current Villa players?

Martin Laursen - I have been a huge fan of his and was GUTTED when everyone ripped into him pre season saying he's a crock and leeching the club dry, the day he signed I was elated to see we could get a player from Milan to join us and he's finally showing us why he's so class!

6 - Which former player/s are your ultimate heroes?

David Platt, he was amazing with his goal scoring from midfield and Tony Daley for being a Legend on the Right wing

7 - Which player do you think was the worst to ever put on the team colours?

Liam Ridgewell; I never once understood why we let him play for us, he was mentally not there, gave away a world record number of penalties, he was truly shocking!

8 - What is the best goal you have seen Villa score and which is your favourite game?

I really liked Ashley Youngs goal against West ham on the final day of the season, it was a good good effort from the live games I have seen, we haven't scored too many stunners.
Favourite game was the Recent Inter Milan game after seeing us not even buying players who I considered to be of any quality go out and batter a huge giant of European football I began to have faith in MON once more.

9 - Best away ground visited?

Loftus Road, wonderful people, nice small ground and CHEAP! (I guess it wont be now though)

10 - Who would you like to see Villa sign this summer?

Daniel Carvalho for some flair, but also finishing from a player who plays in the Hole or Pablo Aimar. I dont mind a young keeper or Right Back but I do like the look of the Mexican Keeper 'Memo' - Guillermo Ochoa He plays for an unfashionable team at the moment, Klass Jan Huntelaar upfront, Aaron Lennon/SWP on the wing I feel Bentley knows he's going elsewhere. Anyone else so long as Heskey doesn't join or Bramble and Harewood leaves... sorry but i think he is terrible!

11 - What are your predictions for us this season in the:
a) League
9-10th
b) Europe I honestly think we can Win the UEFA Cup, the big teams don't try in it and we have nothing to fear against teams on the continent if we play at a pace, teams from other leagues dont have the fitness to keep up.
c) Carling Cup Quarter Finals
d) Fa Cup 4th Round tops i have a bad feeling we'll get an unfavourable draw again

12 - What is your opinion of Martin O'Neill?

Splendid manager, I always wanted him at Villa from the Wycombe Days, some lads I knew back then loved his energy. I feel he needs to look into the foreign market for players and realise even with the entire England team I doubt we could win a title, we cant get those players either, so he needs some brilliance from abroad. He gets 110% from players and makes them feel like they are something else, but I have noticed that players he does not like can get upset like Tommy.

13 - What is your opinion of Randy Lerner and the new board?

Randy joined and I knew from doing some research that his PERSONAL wealth was 1.3bn Dollars! but $900,000 of this was tied in the Browns! so he had a company he owned and us which accounted for $400,000. With most of his money tied up in assets, I knew he would have to generate most of the transfer funds from good business practices and he's slowly but surely putting all of that into place and trying to invest TV money etc into transfers.
I predicted in Fears competition that we'd spend say 60m this summer but I knew we would sell about 30m-40m too when making up this figure. I cant see us spending more than 15m net each window if that! but I am proud of my club and know we are in decent hands with the General even taking time out to consult US fans what other club in the world has that? what other clubs in the world give away their sponsorship (Barcelona aside), we have some class now, good facilities for players, a good youth set-up and a ladies football team too (Some of which are not exactly tough to look at :-P)

14 - Where do you sit at Villa and are you a season ticket holder?

Not a Season ticket holder I'm on the waiting list but I'm told I might need an operation on my ankle so i might need to save up for it and sadly miss out on a season ticket. I get tickets in the Doug Ellis Upper or Holte Lower generally.

15 - And finally (stolen without shame from Vital Arsenal!) if you could invite 4 people connected to Villa, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would they be? And you can add one bit of top totty as well to make the party go with a 'bang' ;o)

Tom Hanks to thank him for the advertisement he gave our club earlier this year, Prince William to see if i could rope him into getting a season ticket, David Platt for advice on making runs from midfield I admire him as a player, Tony Daley to thank him for having my birthday, I would have been a fan of any other club really. Hot girl would be Thaila Zucchi BUT I'm going for the Stunning Eliza Dushku to add some wow factor to the party, or Jennifer Love Hewitt I think she's stunning and looks like a girl you could take home and everyone would like.

With thanks to Shortshadyuk.

i know I'll get booed but I think we over achieved and I cant see us buying too many 1st XI players to improve us (might be wrong) but other ambitious clubs have the means by which to catch us up and I also think a good European run will be MONs Priority as we'll do quite well and we'll blood more kids in the Premiership knowing we're safe from Relegation

Used to support Arsenal? Need to be hung, drawn and quartered for that error of judgement alone. Maybe I'm being a little harsh there. You once stated on here that you 'Hated Harewood', rather a strong statement even at the time I thought, made when frustrations were running high, so I, and no doubt others, cut you some slack. You clearly though haven't really changed your opinion of the guy. Can I ask though, why you think so little of the player? Didn't he win you over even in the slightest with his efforts last season? Obviously you're entitled to your opinion, but I'm just interested to get a little insight behind your line of thinking. Thanks.

regarding the gunners....we all make mistakes! Although I agree with glensider how can you hate Harewood? I thought he was a tremendous asset from the bench and a model professional.

ShortshadyUk has a few 'strange' opinions, so I guess his hatred of Marlon just continues on from there. shame though to 'hate' one of your own. Hate is such a strong word too.
