Vital Villan Interviews - Bearvill

Vital Villan Interviews - Bearvill
Bearvill's interview. Folks, please note we'll stagger these over the week, so once submitted, be patient!

1 - How long have you been a Villa fan and how did you first get the Claret & Blue faith?

Been a Villa fan since the 1992/93 season, all my family are Bluenoses and my dad is from Glasgow (Rangers for any that care) so I am very fortunate to be supporting Villa, It could have been completely different.. I have to thank my best mate a junior school really as he supported Villa, unfortunately he is now a United fan !!!

2 - What was your first game?

Obviously not having the right parents to take me to games, they were few and far between in my youth, however my first game was against Southampton, we won 3 nil with 3 second half goals, not sure of the year but the third goal was by Yorke and he had white boots on !!

3 - What is your most memorable moment as a Villa fan?

Winning the Coca Cola in 1996 sticks in the mind, however my first away game was Chelsea in the league cup when we had the coaches and that was phenomenal even though we lost !!!

4 - And the worst moment?

Losing to Blues the first 2 times (especially at Villa Park) and the FA Cup final in 2000

5 - Who are your favourite current Villa players?

Predictably Laursen and Young...

6 - Which former player/s are your ultimate heroes?

I know this seems silly, but my favourite player for ages was little Alan Wright. Mainly for a goal he scored against Middlesvilla on new years day on the telly, forget what year but I have never seen anyone curl the ball like he did for that goal and I just think he was an underrated player a good servant to the club

7 - Which player do you think was the worst to ever put on the team colours?

Kinsella - Just why ???

8 - What is the best goal you have seen Villa score and which is your favourite game?

I love team goals, Bergers against Sheffield United was good, however Gabbys against Bolton this year was just brilliant...More of that next year please.
Favourite Game was destroying Blues this year, No alcohol required I was buzzing for days after it

9 - Best away ground visited?

St James by a mile, Old Trafford was rubbish I thought !!! but St James is so impressive

10 - Who would you like to see Villa sign this summer?

Realistically I want, Sidwell, Bentley, Boruc, Barry to stay, Carlos Cuellar, and some form of right back !!! oh and Darren Bent for good measure and a few young squaddies like Stearman and Mattock from Leicester

11 - What are your predictions for us this season in the:
a) League
7th
b) Europe 1/4's
c) Carling Cup 1/4's
d) Fa Cup 3rd round as we will no doubt draw Man U !!

12 - What is your opinion of Martin O'Neill?

I think we have the right man in charge and I think given time he will mould us into a side very capable of breaking into that top 4 and winning a couple of trophies on the way. I completely trust him as well which is important.

13 - What is your opinion of Randy Lerner and the new board?

Just brilliant, our club is in very safe hands, not going to list all the goings on but if fans of other clubs saw the behind the scenes changes we have had they would pretty much all be jealous of our illustrious owner...... Long may he be in control of Villa !!!

14 - Where do you sit at Villa and are you a season ticket holder?

I am a season ticket holder and sit in L2 lower Holte row SS in the aisle with 2 of my Villa buddies.

15 - And finally (stolen without shame from Vital Arsenal!) if you could invite 4 people connected to Villa, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would they be? And you can add one bit of top totty as well to make the party go with a 'bang' ;o)

Ron Saunders, William McGregor, Ron Atkinson and Alan Wright haha !!! Keeley would be my lady friend !!!

I think I'd still put him there, he's still our player, and he's been my favourite Villa player for a long while

Almost famous . . . lol. I think most of us are being fairly realistic with our league predictions. Almost bordering on pessimistic actually. But I guess that's what happens when you're a Villa fan. We don't expect too much.

Interesting that you view St James Park as your favourite away ground. Its high up there in my estimation too, great atmosphere, and always one of my more favourite away trips of the season. Good to read your responses. Family of bluenoses eh? You certainly moved onwards and upwards towards better things.
