Vital Villans Interview - notthedougellisstand

Vital Villans Interview - notthedougellisstand
notthedougellisstand interview:

1 - How long have you been a Villa fan and how did you first get the Claret & Blue faith?

I have been a Villa fan for 18 years. I started to support the Villa after the Italia 90, World Cup. When a certain David Platt had a great tournament.

2 - What was your first game?

Tottenham at home Season 1991/92. It was a 0-0 but I was hooked.

3 - What is your most memorable moment as a Villa fan?

Being at the League Cup final in 1996. Villa 3-0 Leeds. Ever sweeter because my Dad was with me and he is a Leeds fan.

4 - And the worst moment?

FA Cup final 2000. Chelsea 1-0 Villa. We just didn't turn up

5 - Who are your favourite current Villa players?

Martin Laursen and Ashley Young.

6 - Which former player/s are your ultimate heroes?

Paul McGrath, greatest player I have ever seen in a Villa shirt. Paul Merson, sublime skills and Ian Taylor, Legend.

7 - Which player do you think was the worst to ever put on the team colours?

Bosko Balaban.

8 - What is the best goal you have seen Villa score and which is your favourite game?

Dalian Atkinson's wonder goal against Wimbledon 1992/92 season. Athletico Madrid at Villa Park, 1998 UEFA Cup Quarter Final at Villa Park, best atmosphere I have ever experienced.

9 - Best away ground visited?

Old Trafford or Upton Park.

10 - Who would you like to see Villa sign this summer?

Rafael Van der Vaart.

11 - What are your predictions for us this season in the:
a) League -
6th
b) Europe - Uefa Cup last 16.
c) Carling Cup - Winners
d) Fa Cup - 5th round

12 - What is your opinion of Martin O'Neill?

I believe Martin O'Neill is a fantastic manager and he has played a major part in turning the club around. His man-management skills are second to none. However, I do believe we should have a CEO who undertakes all transfer dealings. I believe this would speed up the process.

13 - What is your opinion of Randy Lerner and the new board?

Mr Lerner has done everything he said he was going to do. I believe we have the best foreign owner and possibly the best owner in the league. The board appear to be fan friendly and the club have made massive strides in the two years Mr Lerner has owned the club. I think we are now reaching the critical time for the club in the 5 year plan and we will see where we are going to go.

14 - Where do you sit at Villa and are you a season ticket holder?

I am a season ticker holder in the North Stand Lower. The banter with the away fans makes this a great place to sit.

15 - And finally (stolen without shame from Vital Arsenal!) if you could invite 4 people connected to Villa, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would they be? And you can add one bit of top totty as well to make the party go with a 'bang' ;o)

Paul McGrath, Ron Atkinson, Martin O'Neill and Andy Gray. I think there would be plenty to talk about with those four characters. Totty has to be Kelly Brook, I'm sure she could sit there looking pretty.

This is great fun. It allows us to know a bit more about each other and it's interesting how different people from different places came to support us. Kelly Brook. Good choice, notthedougellisstand.
