Is Bardsley A Good Signing?

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Harkcombr, whether Bardsley was a good loan signing.

57% said they didn't know and they'd wait and see.

20% said he was a good signing and that he is quality.

19% said it was an 'ok' signing and 4% said it wasn't a good signing.

So what have we learnt from that? Sweet fa!

Obviously we need to see the young man in action before we can make an educated decision, but we sure needed a right full back, and Hey Presto! Here one is. Hopefully he'll prove up to the task, and hopefully if he does, then we can wrestle him away from the clutches of Sir Alex come the summer.

What was wrong with Lucas Neill? Loan signings are OK and they do make sense but I can't help believing that it smacks of desperation.

Its not really about good signing/bad signing its about the squad and team as a whole. He gives MON another option, in the event of another Injury it makes it have less Impact on the team and also means players may not be required to play out of position. Got to be good just increasing the number of players has to have an impact.

I thought it said beardsley!!!

Surprised that anyone can see this as anything but a good MON decision. On paper anyone who played regularly for Man U's youth side are almost certainly destined to be top-flight Premiership players. MON has got 3 months to make a detailed appraisal of him at close quarters before deciding to make an offer. Maybe Man.U. won't release him anyway but in this case, it's certainly worth having a punt. Without doubt, it's also the weakest back4 pposition at present, excepting whem Mellberg covers it. We now need just another quality midfielder and of course another quality, powerful striker to play alongside Baros, Moore and/or Gabby.

He has to be better than what we currently have on the books. Lets give the guy a chance.

Pity he never really worked out. started out brightly, then faded.
