Player Of The Season So Far?

Player Of The Season So Far?
Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Harkcomb, who was our player of the first half of the season.

There was ever only going to be one man really and so the poll proved!

Step up Villa skipper Gareth Barry, who got 73% of the vote.

Gavin McCann got 13% for his performances thus far, a bit different to the de-motivated player we saw last season eh?

Ever present striker/winger Gabby Agbonlahor got 9% of the vote.

Juan Pablo Angel and Olof Mellberg just 2% and new boy Stiliyan Petrov a lowly 1%.

Shame Wilfred Bouma wasn't in there, with the world beating performance against Chelsea, he'd no doubt have got 100% ?????? ;-))

Think Mellberg should be better recognised He is having a good season. Do you think its the fact he is no longer Captain?

Got to be Gareth. No one else comes anywhere near him for consistency and quality of performances. Proving himself to be an adept penalty kick expert too, as well as leading the team from the front by his actions and attitude.

McCann is the only player that comes close to barry. But Barry does not look as good when he is playing at left back. Melberg is similar, he was looking brilliant at the start of the year until he was switched to right back, where i think he has struggled.

But now that i think about it Sorenson was having probably his best season at villa until he was injured, but still not as good as barry.

Give Tommy Sorensen his due. He's had a good season up until his injury. Looks a more solid keeper this season.
