Interview With Spurs - White Hart
So how has your season been so far and can you qualify for the Champions League this season? Our season has been doom and gloom according to some of the fans but apart from a woeful away record, we have actually done ok. We are in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup, in the semi finals of the Carling Cup and are climbing the Premiership table despite only one win on our travels. Bet you'd swap seasons wouldn't you - no offence like?
Is Martin Jol the right man to take Spurs forward and how far do you think Spurs can go?There are a few dissenting voices on Jol because of the style of play at times and also our away record, if he'd picked up a few more points on the road I don't think there would be any criticism and I do think he is building a very strong squad, not just team. We have some great young players like Lennon and Huddlestone and the future could be very lillywhite! I think the board will stick with Jol long term and he can take us certainly to the Champions League. The Premiership league is a tough one but there is no reason over the next few years why we can't start having a bigger say.
What is your opinion on Aston Villa?Big boys who have shrunk to also rans. It will be interesting to see what you can do now you have Martin O'Neill and new owners but you have some catching up to do. I've no strong feelings but like Villa more than a lot of Premiership teams because you do have a history and in these days with clubs having no tradition it is nice to see.
What do you think of Martin O'Neill?I don't really think about him in all honesty, I think of Cameron Diaz far more for instance. I don't think he is a bad manager, he did well for a small club like Leicester and turned Celtic round but I'm not convinced he is the messiah everyone seems to think he is. He has a lot to prove and now he has money to spend, will he be able to handle it? Probably but the jury is out, just because the press say he is great doesn't make it so. Time will tell. I hope he isn't successful because Villa are a club who should be competing at the top and I don't want anymore competition for Spurs!
Who in the Villa side do you fear?Gareth Barry, wish we'd bought him. Apart from that, no one, your strikers are next to useless and your midfield, Barry aside, is nothing short of a joke for a club who says they are big.
Who in your team should we fear?Jermain Defoe has knocked a few goals in recently, think you might have heard of him but hearing of him is as close to him as you'll get, no way will we be selling him to you lot, he'd hate it up north, it is so grimy! ;-)) Huddlestone is a great prospect and can do damage, in fact man for man, we are in a much better position than you, so fear all of our players as we are going to turn you boys over.
Prediction?Win to Spurs, never care about the score but lets say 2-0 and send you guys back home battered and bruised on Boxing day.
