Well, I didn't make it last night, wasn't well enough (collective - ahhhh) so here is a view from two friends, one being my mate, Wiggy, who had to sit all on his lonesome (second collective ahhhhh) and another from Neil Williams who posted his thoughts on listman.Full Match Stats Click Here
Wiggy said: You missed a cracker last night. Two of the most blatant penalties you will ever see anywhere. I do not know what planet Rob Styles is on but I think he may of let Jlloyd off after not giving the Terry hand ball decision. WHY CANT WE PLAY LIKE THIS EVERY WEEK!!!!!!?
Neil said:
Samuel was back to his best last night IMO both going forward and defending and should have got our MOM award ahead of Milner. I did not hear one bad slagging of him from anyone by me which says a lot. I feel a bit sorry for him because even if he continues to play like that Bouma will be back in as soon as he's fit. Having said that I'd play him left midfield a) to give more defence down that side and b) he offers more pace going forward than Barry does. I did like how those two linked up last night though.
Robben went down a split second after the initial contact and made a meal of it. Having said that it was still a cast iron penalty but probably wasn't given to even up the cast iron one we should have when Terry caught the ball and ran off with it up his jumper. When both sets of fans are saying he was on 'your side' it speaks volumes for his performance as a top referee.
Credit where credit is due we played very well from the off and the non-penalty award seemed to fire them up even more. So much so that Lampard seemed a passenger for most of the game and Joe Cole whinged from the start. That Makele is some player though, as is Gallas. Oh and Robert Huth is like a walking giant.
Delaney's effort for the goal was superb unlike Baros movement when there were decent crosses being banged in all night while he did a good impression of pot plant. Not the best game from him I'm afraid. Sorenson didn't have much to do with Cech being the busier keeper - he made one save from Philips down at his near post look so easy when most others wouldn't have got anywhere near it.
Did like Dave's trapping and killing the ball dead when it was hoofed out of play to him.
Felt a bit gutted at the end we'd only come away with a point, which beggars the question as to why they can't play like that week in week out. Play like that for the next 7 league games and with a bit of fortune we could be out of trouble by the time we hit April.
