If I was asked to quantify the deflated feeling that must now plague many a Villa fans mind, I'd have to look towards the Hindenburg disaster as a deflationary benchmark.
2 losses out of 2 games with 2 inept performances from Martin O'Neill's merry men have left many wondering what is going on, and in places, panicking more than your average hypochondriac that reads too many British medical Journal articles on Swine Flu.
So we'd perhaps be forgiven for worrying about Villa's trip to Anfield on Monday night, with Rafa's merry waiter team led by the fat one looking to continue their revival after an opening day defeat that could have been risky to the season-long ambitions of the club.
So how will Villa fair, possibly with new signing, Neil Warnock making his debut against his old rival club.
It's Villa
It's Scousers
It's terribly inaccurote.
Preview!
Don't panic Mr Mainwaring!
There's nothing fundamentally wrong with us that we shouldn't be able to put right over the course of the season."
Martin O'Neill speaking about the club's early season woes. He continued to tell The Guardian:
"In this modern era, I think this [supporter booing]is something you have to overcome.' 'Don't see it any different here from anywhere else. If we get booed off at full-time, then I say the fans pay their money ... but I'm not so sure having finished sixth last season that we should come off to boos at half-time, at 1-0 down. Don't see the sense in that, don't see the logic either, but we'll overcome that as well."
Perhaps a good point, however for a man who once claimed he didn't have to justify anything to the fans, at a dinner for fans to say sorry for making them spend a fortune to travel to see 'that night in Moscow', he does make a baffling tail does our leader!
Steve Sidwell believes that Anfield is the perfect place to turn things around, not that he will be starting of course. My fellow ginger ninja told avfc.co.uk:
"It's going to be very tough. Even if you go there with the strongest team, good confidence or good form it's still tough to come away with points.
"But what a place to go and get your season back on track. We've got a good squad, a talented squad and players there who can win matches.
So I'm sure if we stick to our game plan we can come away with at least a point."
A point? That's the spirit Steve!

On the flip-flop side, Liverpool boss Jafa(cake) Benitez has (so far) said diddly squat about Aston Villa, so lets just have a laugh at him instead during his "breakdown" stage.
Hilarious, that is a fact.
Liverpool are all set to give their new CENTRE BACK Sotirios Kyrgiakos a debut due to an injury crisis. Daniel Agger is long term missing. Other than that Rafa seems to have a full pack to pick from.
The others missing are Skrtel, Aqua-barbiegirl...sorry, Aquilani, El Zhar and Aurelio.
Well we only have a combined total of 3 defenders, and that's if we tie two injured ones together like some primary school "sports day" race.
With this in mind, Torres scares the hell out of me.
Villa are most definitely sweating on the fitness of Curtis Davies, who is rumoured to be requiring surgery on the shoulder problem that has plagued him and quite frnakly, should have been sorted way before now.
If rumours are to be believed, ex-Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock will complete his transfer in time to debut against his old side.
Luke Young has naturally leave of absence at the moment, may our thoughts be with him and his family.
Moustapha Sali...no I can't even be bothered.
He's going to play, so lets hope he can actually DO SOMETHING USEFUL!
They are from Liverpool, England (well England & Wales) are set to win the Ashes series, and I think the vast majority on Vital Villa are English, so lets go with this:
Perhaps an anthem for the next world cup bid?
Contrary to popular belief, the people of Liverpool don't all drink Calsberg, are not all criminals, and they don't all go "eh eh eh calm down calm down......"
….apparently.
Interestingly, and perhaps in argument of that, the first ever Juvenile Court in the UK was in Liverpool, as were the first council houses and the Citizens Advice Bureau were formed through work in the city.
There is a ferry, across the Mersey, not that anyone cares and quite frankly, get a bus!
The Beatles were from Liverpool, I attempted to get a quote for this preview from the former wife of Beatle Paul McCartney, but I was told that my request "lacked legs."
Liverpool is twinned with Shanghai, which is a fantastic city and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
The referee for the match is a Mr Martin Atkinson. He's already managed 5 yellow cards in two games. In fact, looking at his stats, 5 yellows in one Premier League match!
Sod it, 1-0 Villa with Ashley Young making the difference.
Hopefully we sort our lives out against Rapid Vienna on Thursday!
