White Hart Lane
What a difference an international break makes! Since the 0-0 draw with Liverpool, our Beatles loving bunch of Spaniards have gone on to defeat the European Champions.
The footballing world was turned upside down once more with the shocking news that Manchester City had been taken over by an Abu Dhabi based corporation. Seemingly it makes Roman Abramovich look poor, but someone hasn`t quite told the players as CSKA Chelski defeated Abu City 3-1 on Sunday.
With Prime Minister Gordon Brown promising low cost insulation this winter, tea-towels City wide have found a new role in life, adorning the heads of those 'lifelong' Man City fans that have suddenly bought season tickets, 4 games in.
City's new owners (not yet confirmed) bosses meanwhile wish to dominate the world, which may include dropping any mention of where the club actually plays!
In other news, a colander is going to kill us all, Theo scored a hat-trick and after all of these manic on-goings, Emile Heskey is STILL classed as a plausible transfer target for Villa.
It's Villa, Spurs, where's Your Berbatov gone? Preview!
The quote going straight into what must have been one of the most un-original article titles to hit Vital Villa since it's inception, Martin O'Neill expects another rip-roarer of a game with Spurs, stating: 'It always seems to be 'game on' at White Hart Lane!
The two sides were involved in one of the most exciting games last season, where Villa managed to successfully snatch a draw from the hands of a thumping victory. Something that the Villa boss hasn't forgotten:
'It was an incredible fixture. We conceded early on and having weathered that storm we fought back and scored some great goals culminating in Craig Gardner giving us a 4-1 lead 15 minutes into the second half,' MON told avfc.co.uk.
'Then it just happened and it was one of those where you felt there was inevitability about their equaliser.'
Meanwhile, the Juan-de-call Ramos must surely be getting nervous. If Curbs can gain 7 points and be sacked, what does the future hold for Mr Ramos and his sides' so-far dismal single digit register on the League table?
The Spurs boss outlined how important a win on Monday night is for the London clubs' season aspirations:
'At Chelsea we played well and showed we can play against the big teams. We now need to play in a similar way against Aston Villa and win.
'It's very important to win. After the draw at Chelsea, if we win the match and get the three points it will be very good for the confidence, for the players, for the fans, for everyone.
'Villa are a good team - as they were last season. They are a team with experience, they play in Europe, they are a tough team to play.'
Spurs are likely to hand debuts to their two late summer signings, with Roman Pavlyuchenko and Vedran Corluka getting their first taste of White Hart Lane.
Alan Hutton is the only player missing for Spurs as reported by their Vital site.
Expect Pavlyuchenko to be Russian around.
Get it? Rushing, Russian?
Interesting to see how the former Zenit player does when tasked with beating the mighty Martin Laursen, and most honest of honest honest lads, Curtis Davies.
I wouldn't expect Martin O'Neill to change anything from the side that drew with Liverpool last season.
This means that the player voted best summer signing, Jimmy Milner, may well stay on the bench.
Sidwell's still injured, but Carlos Cuellar should make it at least onto the bench for tonight's game.
Well it seems that Vital Villans reckon he'll score more than Robinho.
Go on Gab, prove it son!
I am the music man, I come from far away what can I play? I play the youtube tune!
Chas & Dave have to be the most famous Spurs fans ever? How embarrassing:
Gareth Barry is a Spurs fan apparently, that wants to play for Liverpool, but still wears that Claret & Blue shirt…ha!
Tonight should be John Carew's half-century of games for Aston Villa.
During the 2004-05 season Spurs' hammered Villa 5-1 at the Lane. In goal for us that day was Stefan Postma, who opted for a healthy breakfast (in lieu of a full English) after he heard he was actually playing!
Postma has since re-joined De Graafschap, from whom he joined Villa.
Frisbee got its name from William Russel Frisbie who was a pie baker. He used to sell his pies in a thin tin pan, which had Frisbee written on it. When Walter Frederick Morrison thought of the idea of making saucer like disks to catch, he visited the campus of Yale and noticed people there were using the pie pan to play catch so he therefore names his new invention to Frisbee.
The ref for tonight's match is Mr Steve Bennet who comes from Kent!
3-1 Villa and on we go towards the top of Fergie's dream league table!
Villa's next match is against what at first glance sounds like the staff team for an Eastern European Sex Shop.
It should be noted however, that Liteks Lovetch is actually one of Bulgaria's top sides.
