Villa V Watford

Martin O'Neill looks for his first away win with Villa. A win today could see Watford get off of rock bottom in the Premiership standings.

Vital Quotes:

Martin O'Neill wants Villa to continue the current form and has warned the players about easing up:

'We must continue what we are doing because confidence is a very brittle quality at football clubs. And it only takes a couple of poor results for it to start ebbing away.'

Watford Team News:

Jordan Stewart will replace injured Chris Powell (calf) at left back. Central defender Clarke Carlisle (what a name!) also misses out through injury.

Player to watch: Marlon King

King has been dangerous wherever he has been, and will be seen as the main goal threat.

Aston Villa Team News:

BBC are reporting that Bouma will be bouncing back into the team, however Gareth Barry is still on standby for the makeshift left-back role (which for make-shift..he looks rather comfortable). Mellberg will continue at right back as Aaron Hughes hasn't recovered from a recent illness.

Player to watch: Stiliyan Petrov

Impressive debut...can he do it again?

Match Facts & Stats

It is rumoured that J.P. Fear will be at the game today. A useless fact for you however not related to him:

Only two players have scored a goal for Watford this year, whoops!

Ref Watch:

The Ref for today is Mike Dean, yay! Mr Dean currently leads the Premiership for the average card count.

Match Prediction:

A 3-1 Villa win from me.

Next Fixtures:

After today it's League Cup action in Scunny, then home comforts against Charlton!

Villa unchanged, sorry guys I went off the BBC who got it wrong. Freddie isn't even on the bench today.

Thought we dominated the first fifty minutes or so, and were pretty much in control. Then they stepped up a gear and gave us a testing. Another very useful point though, and we return home and await Charltons visit, undefeated still. Of course there's that little matter of League Cup action in midweek.
