Why do players need testimonials these days? In the past, yes, as they didn't get paid an awful lot and needed a few bob towards the long retirement from playing years.
But even the Gabbies of this world will have trousered millions during their careers.
Perhaps one of the preseason games each year should be a fund raiser for, say, Acorns?

He plays every match as if it's a testimonial, so he probably doesn't really need an 'official' one.

Were the Club to organise one, it's safe to say I would probably not attend.

Probably?!?!

He's fleeced the fans enough times over the years.

Bollocks to any testimonial for the twat.

They should give him a testimonial and then fans should not bother turning up. After all he has'nt bothered turning up much in the last few years.

I did hear he has already donated over £1m to acorns in the past. If he did get a testimonial maybe all proceeds could go to them .

Cant stand the twat, however if as you suggest Silhill all proceeds went to Acorns that would be a different matter.

Only a charity match would be appropriate, as per nearly all of todays overpaid 'stars'.

Testimonials thesedays, at least at Champ and Prem level are all charity gigs.

But for me, the last few years and lack of contribution mean a flat no. Shame maybe, but he only has himself to blame.

Brian Little had a testimonial in I think May 1982, now there was a genius player truly deserving of such an honour, do not even mention this muppet in the same breath. FOGA - you had your chance, you blew it. Oh and by the way, you would never know which way Sir Brian had gone with the ball.

Don't know why we're debating this. Let's concentrate on something more positive and uplifting, like ripping Wolves apart

This thread should be in a new "Comedy" section of Vital Villa. I have put far more effort into the club but I don't get a testimonial.....
