The only thing consistent about Villa is our inconsistency...... so I'm yet to be convinced.

I think we'll struggle to get a 1-1 draw. I hope I'm wrong, but as I say, I'm not convinced yet.

According to the latest FIFA rankings via the B.Mail, this is the team we should be putting out:

Bunn

Richards Terry Chester Taylor

Snoddy Whelan Jedinak Adomah

McCormack Kodjia

Interesting ....

Not up to speed on injury news but we should keep the winning XI that started against Barnsley

It seems ludicrous to be talking "must win" after 8 games but this really is that.

Win, with Birton (away, granted) and Bolton to come, optimism will be high, we will be confident that by next Saturday night we will be in the top 6 and very close to the top spot, and all talk of Bruce leaving will be all but over.

Or

It goes pear shaped tomorrow and Bruce will be lucky to get to Friday.

Luckily I am super confident it will be tge first.

Forest have no attack, poor defenders and our new found formation with Adomah and Snodgrass supplying Jonny and Keinan with Hourihane supporting should have them tied up in knots.

4-0 with Kodj Snod and Adomah on the scoresheet.

Glad its half 5 as well as kn Liverpool at a Uni open day in the morning !.

The Mail is suggesting the lineup for Forest
http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-...
And there is no Onomah - Jesus

Onomah didn't start last week so no need to change a winning side. If we did you would be the first to complain so you can't have it both ways.

Actually I was naturally happy with the win but we were terrible in the last 25-30 mins as I mentioned [and got slated for doing so but that's the game isnt it] and said we should have gone for them at 3-0 instead of sitting on it

We were not terrible for 25-35 at the end. Its called being 3-0 up and the game over. Read the comments from the Barnsley manager he differs from your view saying that for the last half hour villa were in control. But why let a good 3-0 away win get in the way of having a go at Bruce.

And no I don't think all is well and solved either before anyone says.

Do you seriously think we were in control in the last mins performance wise, they could have scored a couple, we missed a sitter, the passing was largely awful, we invited them on to us largely, the Barnsley manager would say that wouldn't he. Anyway different people see different things.

Think it's time to win convincingly at home (never seem to do that though)

Time for change , in going for 3-0 Snodgrass with opener ......misplaced optimism????

Feeling a lot more optimistic now than I was a couple of days ago. We just need to go at them from the whistle. We need to play with the same attitude and tempo as the Norwich game where we were aggressive from the start, regardless of formation. We haven't done that in any league game since, even the Barnsley game. Recapture that attitude and we win easily, carry on in the same way we've plodded on with this last year and we might get lucky if Kodjia can pull something out the hat.

Could be a good game this and pivotal perhaps. 7 unbeaten (ignoring cup) and a home and away win on the trot would sound better.

Let's not place too much hope on Kodjia, he's been out for a while and can't be match sharp. Feeling relatively confident this morning for a change, Bruce just has to make sure he sets the team up to go for the win. 4-1 Villa.

More fecking mood swings on here than on Mumsnet!

Still think the most likely outcome is a dull score draw.

Looking forward to battering them. I'll go for 6-0.

Also McCormack is off to Melbourne or somewhere, Dr X confirmed it's not a rumour, on loan I think.

Pity about McCormack. I know he's an a**ehole but I've more faith in him finding the net, even if unfit, than Hogan, let alone Gabby. It means Hogan is the only real backup to Kodjia and Davis.

Forest are going through a bit of a bumpy patch; their squad isn't the strongest. So we should win. Not convinced, though.

Not sure the details about the McCormack move but Dr.X said something like hope he comes back fitter, so maybe he's still in the plans for this season.

Maybe loan until January after getting a lot of playing time, bring him back and have a "new" striker for the second half of the season? Makes sense if we can't buy anyone.
