Thought Davis wa excellent again , so pleased he's scored . Great result from a pretty crap performance .
Thought Terry had his best game , perhaps he's finally coming to terms with this league .
Albert was also pretty darn good considering his lack of game time .

A 3-0 win away from home is very satisfactory.

Now please stop messing around and stick to 4-4-2 and keep that team which looked balanced before the kickoff.

Up The Villa :94:

Great win but I do caution Barnsley blew through that midfield a few times with ease. Hourihane was great in possession but we know he isnt there to tackle and defend but you cant take him out as he is the best passer. Whelan doesnt and never has filled me with confidence.

Davis was top class once again, so vital.

I just wish we had better everything on the wings, Adomah is lucky moreso than good.

We were the away team afterall and went 4-4-2, don't give a sh*t about possession from Barnsley, good game plan, lots of good performances, bring on forest for 3 points??

Great result, half a good performance. Extremely lucky 1st half where we made the most of 2 terrible pieces of Barnsley defending. Much better 2nd half, we never allowed them to get them back into the game.

Davis excellent once again, he's made himself a vital player for us. All the defence did well, midfield was too easy to walk through 1st half but improved. Whelan did will but he's not a patch on Jedinak. I don't yet see why we signed Snodgrass. No pace, one trick and no right foot.

A much needed win, hopefully we can follow up against Forest next week not only with a result but a more complete performance. Its not enough to just stick 2 upfront, the attitude to attack has to be there. We had against Norwich with 1 up top. We were too happy to sit back for the 1st half and against better teams that will cost us like it did last season.

Not long back , delighted , when Kodjia gets up to speed him and Davis will be a real handful and we have to accept being a little open if we are going to play 4-4-2 with 2 out and out widemen.

Great to have an out ball and whe we are under pressure we can get it up to either Davis or Kodjia and the can hold it up and get us up the pitch.

Terry was superb todayand I thought Hourihane had a very decent game as well. Elmo's cross for the 3rd goal was a peach and I can see the point of him playing right back as quality delivery like that is something we haven't had for ages from that position.

Loved that Davis goal! Beautiful cross and well placed header by the big man. I'm tempted to get myself a ticket for Tuesdays game after watching that performance tonight.

I'm delighted for Davis. He needed a goal. Hopefully, that will open the flood gates.

Terry rolled back the years today, didn't put a foot wrong.

Elmo was the best I've seen him (perhaps playing him in position helps).

No fan of whelan but on the Barnsley forums one or two say he ran the show - funny old game and all that.

Tuesday we play well and are thwarted by freakish deflections etc - but because it's 0-0 it's all Bruce Out.

At Barnsley we were largely shocking but get lucky - and it's seen as a good show.

Seems that managers are judged purely on scorelines

Restricted them to one shot on target and had other opportunities as well. Adomah's first touch opportunity and close decision for Kodija's offside goal. Not much to complain about here.
