I'm happy with a young manager looking to make a name for himself, the last decade has been depressing but at least under TS (a young manager) we played with more passion than I see today.

Young managers are a risk though as I stated above, however I don't personally want another Bruce/Allardyce/Pulis type - I want someone who can come in and treat Villa as a project bringing a philosophy. It sounds like the club is taking on the Southampton model so that when there is a playing management change, the rest of the club maintains it's momentum. An old school manager you could argue would be less willing to work in this new structure.

Garry Monk is 38
Eddy Howe is 39
Marco Silva at Watford is 40
Nuno Santo at Wolves is 43

Three quality managers in my opinion there who at some point someone has taken a punt on.

Bruce is a yesterday man, clueless in modern game.

Calderwood left Brighton and they haven't looked back.

Fuck them off now, they don't deserve to be at Villa.

Good post Danvilla. I agree a young manager is a risk but maybe right now is the time when we can take a risk? Let's face it we have nothing to lose and we are at a point where we are starting fresh anyway. Experience doesn't seem to mean much these days as Bruce was a cut and dry shoe in considering his experience and championship record and it hasn't worked. Maybe it's more about mentality and coaching ability now given the fact that managers can chop and change players more so than back in the day.
