Stan has more passion for the Villa, in the nail on his left pinkie, than the manager, coach's and players combined.
To be brutally honest, Stan talks more sense in two minutes, than any of the management have in a year.
I wonder why there has never been a job at the Park for Stan?

Passion doesn't equal sense or know how - look at this very forum when people let the red mist descend.

Stan had mental health problems, which would make him the ideal candidate to do two things.
One, he could help players having problems before the probLem's become unmanageable.
Two, he'd be ideal in pointing out the pitfalls of being a professional footballer to the younger members at Bodymore.
As he's been there, done it and designed the tee-shirt, the youngsters especially, are more likely to listen to what he has to say.
Maybe Merse could be brought in to add his tuppence worth about the ease of becoming an alcoholic and addicted to gambling.

I can see the virtues of bringing in Stan in some capacity to Villa, not as a coach but maybe with the younger players, U18s primarily, in a tutor or councillor role. To help advise them about how easy it is to take for granted what a privilege it is to be a footballer, to play at a club like Aston Villa, the pitfalls to avoid, who to talk to about any problems. He's been there and nobody knows more than Stan, what a waste he made of his own career. He could have been massive for Villa but his demons go the better of him and it all fell apart. I wonder if the owner could see the benefits of such an appointment. Maybe Stan could be used to scout the best talent in the region and persuade these players to come to Villa. Lerner and his cronies proved to be unwilling to listen to offers of help, so would Mr Xia and the new board see the potential and take advantage of having an ex player, a Villa fan, someone who is still in touch with the current game and it wouldn't cost millions to bring him on board - and it could save the club millions over the years by unearthing local talent rather than buying expensive flops. And if it doesn't work out then what have we lost?
