He's wasted a shed load of money on absolute shite players that well all knew were not the answer. He admits he doesn't do tactics so what does he do?

Every single season 'we knew these lads would be shit' wonder when that will stop (cue when we stop buying shit players/have a proper manager).

Can't trust too many peoples judgement in here in that regard some would have Kozak back at the club says it all.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it already but Dr Tony temporarily liked a tweet from a fan saying that Bruce has been poor for months.

Yes he needs to go now in my view, he isn't turning this around. The only green shoot is our star man who can bundle the ball past two defenders and get a goal is back soon but other than that the players he's bought, the style of play, the tactics, the motivation are all back to square 1.

I would've liked Garry Monk, he's done a good job at most places he's been and got Leeds firing with a big striker in Woods so maybe he would do the same with Kodjia. Shame Boro snapped him up

Get Bruce out, Big Sam, by no means a hero of mine, but, goes into a club in a rut, puts together a system immediately.

Then drills it into the players, so that everyone totally understands their role & responsibilities & gets results.

Before anyone says, "yes, but, it's not pretty football", NO, it isn't, but, always he gets results & I don't think I'm alone in saying I would take that whilst he guided us back to the Prem.

We are in danger of becoming a Championship side for years, or, even worse & dropping down again.

Surely on Bruce's rolling 1 year contract he can be fired with the remaining months of his contract paid up. Allardyce with Terry as coach is my choice.

Dean Smith - Villa fan, can get players playing to a decent system and be attacking.

By God Bruce needs to go as the team are shot already - confidence probably drained for continually chasing the ball for 90 minutes.

We have been abysmal under Bruce for 75% of his time here, no plan / style or direction.

Hi all
I'm a fan of big Sam based on what he has done at other clubs hodgson can get a decent bunch playing look at the boggies. But why is Hutton , gabby & richards still here, no one wants to buy them for a reason? But they should be loaned out away from the club as far as poss, then there are 3 spaces for young hungry kids to come into the first team who want to impress not deceive. Bruce should be seeing this it's so obvious.

We need some one with a forward thinking, modern approach to take us forward (I.e not an old school British dinosaur type). There is a reason clubs like Bournemouth are miles ahead of us.

There needs to be a strategy in place from the top and it needs to feed through to the rest of the club, including the manager, coaches and players.

Getting in a new manager, letting him buy a bunch of new players only to then sack him 6 - 12 months later and for a new manager to decide all the previous managers signings were crap doesn't help things, it just throws us further into a negative cycle. That's not a defence for Bruce, I think he should be sacked if he doesn't win the next 2 games, but there needs to be a strategy in place at the top to guide the club rather than lurching from one set of ideas to the next every few months.

None of the managers on that list particular excite me, as others have said maybe the ideal candidate is someone who isn't on our radar. A new guy needs to be long term, not a quick fix who will ultimately get sacked in a year or so

Can't think of any reason to keep him. What makes anyone believe he can change it? Not even the slightest improvement in 10 months.
He lost me last season he never improved us he just got lucky.

Bruce is a despicable excuse for a manager. He should go now while we have a few decent options available to replace him.

I just have a feeling Dean Smith wouldn't last very long in the manager's chair at Villa Park as the club and its problems would be too much for the guy.

Being a Villa fan doesn't mean anything when it comes down to it, in fact, it could well be a hindrance as he is overwhelmed by the club and the size of the job?

Same old, same old, we need this, we need that. I am absolutely certain that if we go back to when Bruce was appointed, the majority were saying "proper football man".

The appointment of Steve Round is supposed to set continuity between the appointment of managers akin to what Watford and Southampton have done. Therefore in theory there should be no need to rebuild the team, just tweak it a bit.

For me, Bruce has now had his shot and has no tools left in his box to change the outcome further. We all know his style of play is huff and puff, as he bragged about in a recent post match interview. The club bragged about doing due diligence on the guy - how can they say that when the dreaded Guardian article seems to explain everything clearer and clearer. Bruce has brought in his own team and still suggests that he needs to dip further into the transfer market, when in reality some of our kids are pushing their credentials by actually turning up and playing football with a modicum of skill and a lot of effort.

In short, didn't want Bruce or a Bruce type appointment initially, but recognised the need for a stable platform to build a dynasty on. The continual merry-go-round of the managerial gravy train is not the answer. Aston Villa need a footballing identity, (other than the perennial losers tag that we seem to have acquired). They talk about "the Villa way" throughout the club, without telling us what the Villa way looks like. Bruce talks about green shoots. It's all bollox, smoke and mirrors - there appears to be no apparent Villa way at the moment and an appointment like Allardyce or Pardew will only be able to do it their way. I wanted Wagner appointed (or his ilk), I still do. I don't care how much it costs to get the right person in, but you don't go shopping in the bargain basement store for the leader, trendsetter of a blue chip organisation.

Steve Jobs was kicked out of Apple and they lost everything that made them "not Microsoft". It nearly broke them until he was reinstated. His vision, his singular purpose was to make the Apple brand appealing, sexy and totally different from anything else.

From looking around a bit one name springs to mind, Julian Nagelsmann and before anyone says he is too young or doesn't have the experience, Pep Guardiola was very young (and still is) when he achieved initial success at Barca and Bayern. We could use some German efficiency right about now.

BTW - not saying it isn't a risk, appointing a new manager is always a risky business, but for how much longer can we ignore what is staring us in the face. Bruce reminds me of Lambert, Sherwood and Garde towards the end of their time. All in denial and all suggesting they only needed more time.

The players are currently rudderless, they are probably not intentionally "not playing" but without clear direction and consistency of selection, they are struggling big time. Get someone in who can organise, we have a decent squad and good footballers don't become crap overnight. With the right direction we can still push for promotion with the players we already have.

I think our problems lie deeper than Bruce. The club just seems to be a cancer that can't be cured.

Houllier, McLiesh, Lambert, Sherwood, Di Matteo, Bruce.... are we seriously saying they are ALL bad managers?

Despite the fact some of them have won top honours, achieved promotions with other clubs etc. ?

We change, we start over, we struggle, we change we start over we struggle again, it's a never ending cycle.

There is a gloom lying over our once great club and it's deeper than just the manager.

That's the only reason i voted to keep him, because I 100% believe, no matter who we bring in to replace him the rot will continue.... so why bother?

Sad times.
