I have to say I was a big fan before his injury. Had a good engine, seemed light on his feet and was good going forward.

Since the injury, he backs out of any 50:50, gets caught out positionally and hasn't been able to get the confidence back he once had. Opposition managers who do their homework target him, stick a ball over his head whilst he's running back to his own goal and anything can happen

I would've taken the reported £25m for him.

Has gone backwards since his injury and will be interesting to see if he regains form elsewhere.

My only concern (and I feel like I'm forgetting about someone) is that Bruce would put a square peg in a round hole if Taylor was injured.

Are any of our senior players adept at playing left back. Can Bree?

I can't see him using an academy left back. Toner?

After Last Nights Game when de laet came on he moved Bree to left back so whether that's the gaffers intention using Bree as cover for both full backs ???

Good luck Jordan. Hope it works out for him, but also glad the saga is finally all over.

Didn't watch last night. Well I guess that must be the plan. Really don't like it when right footed full backs play on the left to be honest but I don't manage a football club.

Marseille have a short time ago confirmed Jordan Amavi's switch from Aston Villa back to the French Ligue 1.

Good luck to him. Think he's lacked confidence since his injury, and a different environment might enable him to get that back. Best move for all.

Good luck to the boy. Not a good defender and average going forward. Taylor is far better and we have adequate cover with DeLaet/Bree as long as Taylor isn't sidelined for too long! He is competing with a 36 year old Evra at Marseille, so that should tell you everything about the French league!

It appears he has brought in a £1.8m loan fee for this season on top of the £9m transfer next season according to transfermarkt. Can't fault the guy for his attitude, his belief that he should stay with Villa last season to repay us for looking after him while he was injured. Shame it didn't work out for him and wish him future success with a hefty sell on clause.
