And wish it had been a sell out, I didn't go so I'm as bad as anyone.

That bloke deserved everything for what he did for us, maybe if this was held years back when the club was energised it would have been.

Fair play to those that went, Sir Graham was a legend who ended up getting abuse second time around.

Sign of the times I guess.

Based on the little bit of pre season I've seen not only has Terry made the defence look much more secure but he's also the best passer of the ball in the team. I don't think I've seen him waste a pass. His passing of the ball out of defence has been composed and positive.
Whelan looks a useful addition as well.

I am becoming frustrated at some of Mr. Bruce's decisions. Grealish off injured, bring Bacuna on. Fair sub on the face of it but, to play Bacuna in holding midfield and move Lansbury to partnering Gabby, what the fuck was he thinking. If Lansbury is going to have any effect on a game, its going to be from deep, from besides the DM, where he can spread the ball.
Likewise Bacuna, when he was playing in the Eridivisie, was an attacking midfielder, who because of team injuries was utilised as a fullback. Manager after manager at Villa has misused him. Give him a run in his natural position and he just might prove to be our missing link but, he will need a run of games to get back into the swing of things but, its surely worth a shot.

Its alright saying this player looks good and this player looks good the problem is the team looks disjointed and its the team that counts. The problem has always been from last season attacking midfield nothing has been done as yet to solve this and that is worrying.

His persistence with Gabby will get him the sack , he hasn't learned a thing since he tried it in January which cost us any chance of top 6 .
I want him to succeed but ...........

Pre-season has not been pretty, but let's at least give Bruce until the end of the window, the return of Kodjia & Jedinak and maybe 10-12 games before assembling the angry mob.

If we are miles off the pace by mid- late-September, then we definitely have a right to kick off about the direction of travel.

Personally I wouldn't confuse a handful of fans on here dissatisfied with Bruce as a true barometer of villa fans. Every home game I hear opinions that are so far away from what is said in the forum it's a reminder that the bubble of vital villa is not chapter and verse on fans opinion as a whole.

I think you're spot on Melon, but I think as football fans we will always want more. I bet Barcelona fans aren't happy at the moment, playing second fiddle to Real Madrid and losing Neymar.

I've never hidden that Bruce would not be my manager of choice, but I have seen progress since his arrival and am happy to support him and the team. Last years defence was, in truth, not that good and was protected by Jedinak - without him we lost. This year we will be able to defend better with better defenders. Jedinaks weakness was his passing accuracy and hopefully we will not need to rely on him as much. If we can play without him, we may have space for another creative player and the window has not slammed shut just yet. Keep the faith fellow Villians

It's not just on here that I see the comments. Infact I would say this forum is more pro Bruce than twitter and other sites.

I have not been impressed with pre season in the slightest but to suggest I am questioning Bruce is very wide of the mark. I've seen enough pre-seasons to suggest they mean utterly nowt come next Saturday. I remember going to Cheltenham (when they were in the conference) and getting stuffed in one of Bozzie's first games - we then went on for a storming season.

This team will look drastically different when Kodjia / Jedinak and maybe one more addition are included. Until then, I do expect it to be scrappy and dull, but I do expect us to nick more games more than not.

If we are not at least top 6 by end of September, yes I will be asking questions and I am sure Dr Tony will be as well, but I fully expect to be happy as larry by then (if not by the football, then by the results)

We'll be more solid at the back and eliminate those goals we ship in the last few minutes of a game or straight after kick off after half time. That could save us up to 10 points over the season.

Gabby is shit and won't score more than 6 times in a season. We look more of an attacking threat with some of the younger players in the team . Start with davis on Saturday not that useless lump .
