Do they really get notification when e-mails have been read?

Yes, the club are bound to use proper email automation software (eg Infusionsoft) which tells whethe emails have been opened/any clicks in the email/bounced/gone to addresses which don't exist/etc. Huge amounts of info can be gleaned.

Big Brother is watching! I imagine the government can tell if you've opened the AVFC emails

The season ticket announcement certainly made me aggressive.

It's very poor actually. There should be a £300/350 cap on season tickets, and match tickets should be £15 full price, kids & OAPs £10 max. That's aggressive pricing, and however poorly we are playing, I bet we'd get well over 30k every week, closer to a full house if we're winning and challenging.

It makes me so angry, especially when players are raking in such obscene amounts for such mediocrity. As Wyness admitted, Villa have been on Sky more than any other team, so they are doing ok with the TV money that's for sure.

Yup I ahve banged on about the German model in the past. Sell low and fill the ground , the German clubs even throw in free transport to and from the ground as well.

Pleased in a way that it won't cost me any more next season but you still can't help feeling slightly underwhelmed by it all.

I did ask if long standing loyal fans are going to be rewarded/recognised. I don't think a price feed and honouring the free cup game that never was really does that.

However maybe their new loyalty scheme will key into that side of things.

I still think whilst we are so poor and after this woeful season retention should be the buzz word not trying to attract new customers and families, surely for expansion the 'product' on the pitch has to be right and also some of the gripes brought up like the overcrowded areas at half time when people are trying to get drinks etc.

Yes I don't think we will be attracting many new 'customers' if we're plumbing the depths of League One next season. Interestingly, I don't recall seeing much publicity around Half Season Tickets before Christmas - last year, every other day seemed to bring a new pleading email.

Much more has to be done to make the existing matchday experience better - from the football to the catering to the attitude of many of the stewards. Even on-pitch nonsense at half time has to appeal to some fans?

Its the all singing all dancing 'price freeze' until only April which is just awfully thought out and answers the question about long standing loyal fans reaping any benefits.

Wasn't there a similar guarantee on frozen price last season, if you renewed before May 28th(?) or around then?

Yes my take on it is that its is only until April. But it is not clear at all which i put in the thread on season tickets. It almost seems glossed over in the big advert about price freeze. I cannot for the life of me think why they would not state what happens after April unless its as it seems and they go up.

If they are so set on freezing prices, as opposed to reducing them, maybe they could give ST holders significant cashback (eg 20-25%) to be spent in the club shop/away tickets/cup tickets - basically retain Villa Cash and make it actually mean something. Or even guarantee free cup tickets home or away to ST holders?

People nowadays are far more interested in money/cash value/reward rather than freebies that aren't really relevant or other miniscule discounts on stuff.

And as well as STHs, make match tickets cheaper!!!!

Just thought that if you take up the interest free option then you can still get the price freeze but pay for it over 9 months so technically not paying for them straight away anyway.

Plenty of time to prepare the predictably deadpan responses whilst counting his money.
