I've never been so unexcited by a signing in my life.

Unless it's with a view to a permanent deal, I couldn't care less.

Jed Steer must be a really bad keeper.

I think we need to give the lad a chance before slagging him off. Good luck Sam.

Gollini is off I'm sure. The bags under his eyes in that Leeds away game told a story of unhappiness

You saw that too. It looked like he hadn't slept for weeks.

It's amazing what a good keeper can do , look at the baggies with Ben Foster he must be worth 12 points a season to them.
If he gets us promoted then fair play .
I guess Bruce has seen enough to Know Gollini and Bunn won't win us many points but they will cost us a few .

I have to say im not impressed by this signing ive nothing against the lad but for me its like for like both coming from Man U ( Gollini indirectly) both relatively experienced , i don`t think bringing this lad is going to add anything to the team.

Why is there no option to sign him permanently ? its not like he is getting into the Man U team anytime soon surley there here must be a proven goalkeeper available at a decent price especially as funds are not supposed to be a problem.

For me it just seems like a repeat of Thomas Cleverley a player that is just using us as a stepping stone and i for one have had enough of them also is young experienced goal keeper going to be able to deal with expectations that come with being Aston villa`s first choice goal keeper

Obviously, I don't know the ins and outs of his contact but I've heard on here that we have the option to buy for £2m at the end of season.

That would leave us in the strange position of wanting him to do well but not well enough for Man Utd to want him back.

I don't get all the negativity! We need a better keeper that's a fact and we have a buy option in the summer for £2m . Potentially this is a great bit of business

Strange all the negative comments on a player none of us have seen play .
Gollini and Bunn are not good enough so why is everyone complaining about a replacement , simply because he is 23 . I don't think we'd have complained about a 23 year old Joe Hart .
Yes he might be crap for all we know but so are the other two and Jed steer is never going to make it either if he was 3rd choice to Bunn and Gollini.

Lets at least give the Lad and Bruce a chance .

People have been saying give Bruce a chance with his own players , the first signing and it's nothing but negative comments.

I suppose some are brainwashed by Dr Xchav and his bragging , personally I take his bullshit with a large pinch of salt .
We are where we are .

We have to trust Brucie and his signings. Afterall he will sink or swim depending on their success.

My negativity is not personal against him as a player rather the rationale behind the signing. Firstly I hate developing players unless it's for the benefit of AVFC. So if it's a straight forward loan until end of season then it does not benefit the rebuilding of the club/team from recent events.
If, as now being said its a loan with view to permanent then that's better. But we are then replacing inexperience (Gollini) with inexperience. And as has been said if he comes in and does brilliantly then someone else can easily come in with a better offer i.e premier league football.

We needed a solid, proven, experienced gk. Not another 'could be ' really good.

It's possible that Gollini is indeed homesick. The fact that the goalkeeping coach we had was Italian (and reportedly a good one), but left when Bruce arrived, may have withdrawn the support Gollini had when he arrived. We don't know how good Gollini's English was, and the club's support network for foreign players was dismantled over the summer. So, maybe he wants to go back and has good reasons to do so.

If it's true, then this signing may be the right move. As regards ability, I don't think there's a case. Johnstone seems to be one of the brighter young goalies around, but then is Gollini, who I'm pretty sure has a bright future and I've had liked to have stayed; Gollini in spite of the odd mistake was a huge improvement over Guzan, which Bunn hardly is.

So, maybe a necessary signing, and if so welcome. I think we're more interested in the signings who can really make a difference, especially in midfield.

The chances of landing a proven good quality keeper in January are limited though. As it stood we didn't have a decent keeper on the payroll.
I'm assuming Bruce is choosing players now and not that comedian O'Reilly and his ridiculous cohorts so let's trust Bruce's judgment on the new players .

We obviously need a keeper if he isn't going to play gollini and stick with bunn, so I'm happy to give this lad a chance coming from Man U. We're not top half premier league anymore, we're mid table championship at the moment so he's probably the best we can get and who knows might actually be decent (Hardly gonna displace De Gea at Man U is he). No one is gonna let a decent, experienced keeper go in January.

Both gollini and bunn have had their chances and repeatedly blown them with basic howlers . I think this new keeper will be a step up on the former two . You don't stay at Yanited that long if you are crap

so let's trust Bruce's judgment on the new players .

To be honest ,it's his judgement on the old players that I'm beginning to worry about
