agree danvilla, he makes an impact when he comes off the bench as I've said before but needs to make an impact when playing a full game. Bruce does not (I don't think) like fancy dan (not you) players, he'll demand an end product or he'll simply not use him.

should be in Grealish thread really but hey ho, I do wonder if Bruce can sort the mid to be stronger, if Jack might be able to be developed to play a similar role to what Magic Merse did, freer role behind striker/s

Alli has the mentality that he wants the ball in the back of the net in some way shape or form. Jack wants to dance around with the ball like a princess.

I hope i'm wrong, but we had a solid 8 players behind him, granted probably the worst lone striker ever in the history of football but nevertheless he created very little for Gabby and was hardly a threat himself.

There is no forward movement from anyone , it's been like this for years . Kodja makes his own goals and so did Benteke before him. It;s this stupid 3 pronged attack they all seem to have a fetish over .
Ends up being a loan striker and 4 fullbacks and two extra centre backs , the best part is we still concede !!

He needs to receive the ball higher up the pitch , problem with him is he is always willing to have the ball anywhere on the pitch and will take the whole team on , the complete opposite of AW15 who treats it as a hot spud.

Bruce needs to come up with a plan and quick, ie what are we trying to do , because to me we play off cuff . Doesn't seem any plan to score a goal . Just pass it around aimlessly until we lose it ,

Couldn't agree more , and I was saying this to JF last week we need to get him on the ball where he will do most damage i.e in the last third , drives me mad when he drops deep and takes it off the centre half. Ron Saunders said this about Tony Morley and called them starting positions. Luckily Morley had a top class midfield to get the ball to him in the areas where it mattered, our midfield can't do that for Grealish.

To be fair, Bruce set up the team to first and foremost stop Spurs, and for most of the match they did. Thought Adomah and Bacuna generally did a great job defensively, but we lost any movement forwards, except for odd moments. What we're lacking is a central midfielder who can really take the ball forwards when necessary; Tshibola was trying but we really need somebody like Lansbury.

The team today looked a vastly better unit than last season's disasters. We're lacking strengths in a few areas where it really matters in terms of scoring goals. If Bruce and the Dr can sort that in this window we could have a good half-season ahead.

Stop them first.
Tshibola better than wankturd and gardner.
They are on different level.

Got to agree with practically all that VillaTomB38 put. I think your route back was aided by some lines running a little later than had been expected (as announced at half-time). I too encountered some very pleasant stewards, some nice words said.

I came away thinking 2-0 was a fair scoreline. Yes, we didn't offer too much going forward, but we were hard-working and spirited. It was also, in my opinion, a vastly improved effort on what we all witnessed at WHL last season as well.

I do find it baffling however, that Adomah is continually one being replaced. To me, he looked like someone that was gaining some success own the right and delivering some decent balls. I'd have rather he stayed on and Bacuna was hoinked.

With regards to McCormack, I think part of the issue is he reads and sees opportunities far quicker than those who are to supply him the ball. I've noticed in the past and there was an example right at the end today, where he had found space, was pointing for the ball, prepared for his run, but when the ball was eventually released it was too late and made the keeper a comfortable favourite. I don't think he suits the system great either, but something needs to be done, as the stats don't lie, he is a goalscorer and with Kodjia missing that's imperative now.

I think what is clear though following Gabby's, Hepburn-Murphy's and now Davis' inclusion, is that poor old Libor Kozak is no longer part of plans and will be sold this month if possible, otherwise he'll be a freebie when his contract expires in the summer.

Apologies went for a few scherberts after getting back from the game.
Was referring to being there aftet ron got the boot and we beat them 4 3.
I hear the tv coverage was slightly bias towards spurs , cant be true surely.

The next time we play Spurs in a televised game on the Beeb can we please have John Gregory or Ian Taylor as the co-commentator? Danny Murphy gets on my wick.
