The one positive I take was Bruce's post match comments. He was shaking with anger, absolutely seething . He said we need to do the basics and roll sleeves up and fight. The first half particularly was a disgrace , woeful .
Bruce will be bombing the likes of Westwood out now I'm sure

Nobody believes Amavi is worth £25 million. Sorry but he has very few options in midfield.

Cardiff fan on wm saying the atmosphere was as good as they've had at their ground and big compliments to the villa fans.
To be fair Colin Wanker was also very complimentary about the villa fans support .

Yes the support was magnificent once again.

Did you hear the 2 callers defending Westwood as well Silhill ?

They certainly weren't there yesterday that's for sure.

Needs to think outside the box . Lord Ron turned Kenny Swain into a good right back and Allan Evans into one of the best Cb's we've ever had ,

Southgate was a midfielder and Sir Brian turned him into an England CB .
Gareth Barry could play any position , but started as a defender the list is endless .

Players are players and for a I'm pretty sure Amavi could play central midfield better than Westwood .
I know Tish can play better than Westwood as I've actually seen him do it .
Bacuna is a far better player than Westwood

He does have option he just can't see them

Some fans lack of basic football knowledge is embarrassing, .

I do get what they think they see they see a neat tidy player and they see Jedinac as a player who gives the ball away . (not a player who wins it!)
They think they are being smart and believe tippy tappy shit wins you games .

The fact is if we had 10 Westwoods they wouldn't ever touch the ball , they'd just point to each other

I don't buy the 'Bruce can only be judged when he has bought his own player' line either. He can still be judged on the decisions that he makes. Earlier in this match thread when the team was announced just about everyone said that it was suicide going into the game with the team he put out. We didn't buy the players either yet we could see it, why couldn't Bruce? The are always things that you can do, there is always some kind of wriggle room.

Houllier had bigger problems when he opted to play Hogg and Bannon in midfield aganst ManU, as did O'Leary when he went with Gardner and Whittingham against a very strong Newcastle team. Having a player like Tshibola to call upon would have been the height of luxury.

Tshibola s 21 years old and 6ft 3 inches tall. We are not talking about a babe in arms. Bruce's issue with him - whatever it is - has cost us this last 5 or 6 games. Not just against Cardiff.

It could have waited until he had dealt himself a few more cards n the transfer window.

Fully agree there Chastity , I don't think Bruce likes the younger players . A blind man on a galloping horse can see Tsish offers more than any of the midfielders he picked . He is strong he gets stuck in and drives from midfield .

I am fairly certain it must be disciplinary and possibly attitude. Perhaps rightly Tsh is looking and saying 'how the fuck am I sat on the bench' whereas Bruce being old school like Fergy will be saying 'you've got to earn it'. Thats where the discipline and attitude come in, has he been doing everything he could possibly do to get in the side? Is he working hard enough in training? I would suggest not.

Now consider what message does it send to play Tsh who has been having an attitude problem ahead of two players who usually try but lack quality.

This I am sure will conjure up the Gabby question. Steve Bruce is new to the club he doesnt care what happened before and doesnt want to know about it. Gabby must be doing the only thing Bruce asks for and that is effort, effort in training and on the pitch. RHM might feel hard done by given he knows the issues of the past but you cannot expect to just play because of that.

Thats not to say I dont agree with everyone, I dont know whats going on but it must be that because like everyone else I dont know why he hasnt got a chance ahead of those two. I am not sure what Bruce was thinking I mean we're talking about 2 of the least athlete players we have and as centre mids and I know I wasnt the only one to say those two can never play together as a partnership many months ago.

It's possible Bruce has good reasoning behind what he's trying to do, although it's hard to see what it may be. He should still have waited until he was in a better position before picking the fight.

If they are at loggerheads then half time at Cardiff was a resounding victory for Tshibola, with the biggest losers being us.

A lot of thought provoking views there. Firstly 'you've got to earn it' immediately begs the question why certain players repeatedly get picked. You have got to earn the right to be on the pitch for sure, but equally if you continually under perform but still get picked then that brings into question the manager. I would rather see our young players be given a chance to show what they can do than see the same old dross picked week in week out. What is the point of them even trying if they feel that whatever they do the absolute [unlikely] best they will get is a cameo bench appearance. This old school attitude didn't prevent Fergie blooding some youngsters - maybe he had more balls [or better players ... but that is always up for debate until proven otherwise]. If all Bruce is asking for is effort then the January transfer window should be a breeze. Effort without skill and teamwork will get us exactly nowhere except where we are at best. Nobody expected Bruce to come in and suddenly transform us into Barca and walk the chumpionship, but equally he is very experienced and he is expected to see the obvious. Finally I would generally buy into the view that a new manager doesn't pay too much attention into what has gone before his arrival, but I am sorry to say that he is missing certain things that have been blindingly obvious for years to the even the casual observer
