Thought he was a limited player, looked out of his depth playing for England, seemed hooked on the pass and run approach, which is OK at the right time but not all the time. Then I saw him a few times for Man C and thought he'd matured.

The way he left was unfortunate more than anything. If he'd just gone don't think anybody would have blamed him, well, not much; it was Villa which drew up the contract which let him go. I think the "want to stay at Villa" about turn was from genuine affection for the club, but maybe he should have sat down and thought before doing it. When he did sit down he must have thought "what am I doing" and went. Very unfortunate, but for me forgivable.

Would I take him back on loan? You bet. That drive forwards from midfield is just what we're missing.

Water under the bridge. He won't come back here. I doubt we would pay his wages, and anyway, I think there's too much bad blood with the fans, most of whom probably don't understand the machinations of him leaving and just see a Judas.

He's definitely better than Westwood and Gardner, for what it's worth. Which is not much as he won't be coming back here. I couldn't really care less either way.

I might stop, I have no idea what I'm talking about now.

Moved for the money at the expense of his football career.

Another Tekkers basically and where is he now.

There will be far better out there for the money he will be asking.

It's all about availability. Will he make Villa a better team.......Yes.

So from that perspective I would have him back. He has been injury prone lately so that is the only barrier for me. If he is fit and we get 24 games from him, make the playoffs, then I couldn't give two hoots about what happened at a time the club was a complete farce - no wonder he left. This is a business and we need to get back to the PL. He's a good pro who can improve the team. He's not Flabby or Joey Barton who are liable to make the club a laughing stock at any moment.

Seeing Agbonlahor back in the fold has unfortunately told me never say never where football is concerned.

i liked Delph, his energy and effort couldn't be questioned, he also had some leadership qualities

i would have no issue if he did return.....that said i'm not sure he will

No thanks. Whatever the circumstances he tarnished his reputation with us and is now a mere footnote as another Jack Rodwell, Adam Johnson (footballing terms) . Chased the buck at expense of their career.
In any case absolutely ZERO chance of him leaving man city and dropping to the championship. Sunderland type club move beckons.

I'd rather give Tshibola a run than have that little prick back. I said when he left that within 2 years he'd be off to someone like hull or Sunderland to "regain his England spot". Didn't think he'd be desperate enough to drop down a division though.

To me, these type of threads are silly.

I mean, come on, would you really say no to Fabian Delph. You know, we have Westwood and Gardner and you would say no to a guy who played about 30 games at the heart of Man Citys side last year.

I mean , hes good enough to play against Man Utd Bayern and Barca but not against Rotherham Burton or Wolves.

But thats why these types of threads are pointless. You may as well ask would you have Erikson or Silva.

The guy is what - 24 -25. If, and it is an if, he leaves City it will be like Milner, he will have the pick of the traditionsl top 8 to pick from on 6 figure wages per week.

He will certainly not be stepping out at Ninian Park in New Year

I think some people need to realise where Villa are and who we can attract nowaays. Kodjia was a coup from Bristol City !

At an established Premier League club, prob on about 60k a week back as Belgiums main striker and living in London which is where he said he wanted to be the day he signed for us.

Yeah, bet he is utterly gutted he isnt lining up to play Burton Albion on Sunday !

Had we been a club looking to the future Teckers would have been better staying. We weren't. Ditto Delph.

It is very rare that a player brings success with him if he ever returns to an old club.
While Delph is three or four classes above our present midfield incumbents, I am afraid I would have to say signing Delph would be a bad move.

Haha, they can both fuck off.
