I used to be Big_Marlon you know?

We shouldn't be taking risks on him anyway, he's too important to us. Just don't reintroduce him until he's fully fit so there's no chance of any recurrences.

Besides, 4 weeks isn't so bad considering we've got 2 without a game after Friday.

And Mr Bruce we have a certain Kienan Davis who is obviously far too young to be considered ... Oh said Bruce but we also have our record PL scorer.

Such a shame but as Holte139 says, not worth rushing him back until fully fit.

Massive blow. We need him back if we're going to challenge for promotion. Teams don't tend to win or challenge for things without their best players.

Just confirms what was known two or three weeks ago. Wonder if he tried to get back to fitness too quickly. Not worth taking a risk with him.

When he does, him and Davis up front could be a killer.

Whatever, as he and Davis are the only two strikers we've got who look like doing anything, somehow or other we need a third.

Dont rush him back. Its a poor show if the squad we have cant hold the fort for 4 weeks.
It could even turn out to be a blessing in disguise if its forces SB hand on team selections.

Agree entirely with your first paragraph McP.
However, I don't think Davis and Kodjia could form a partnership, mainly because I don't think there is a player living who Kodjia is capable of partnering. He is one who is too greedy to work in partnership with anyone.
On the other hand I do think Davis and Hogan could form a good partnership.

1958 - was thinking that with Davis being good at holding the ball up and taking on defenders, he'd be able to slip the ball to Kodjia. Don't think it'd work in the other direction though!

Mac, I don't think we can actually afford to have Kodjia in our team.
In our last two games, we've had 5 goal scorers. With Kodjia on the field, I doubt anyone else would get a chance.
Yes I know he scores a lot but, I think he costs us as many, if not more than he scores.
Look at last season, he insisted on shooting from ridiculous angles, or blasting the ball into defenders in front of him_ when a simple 5 or 10 yard pass would give a team-mate a shot at an almost empty net.
I accept I'm going to get flayed alive because of that statement but, I can only say what I see.

I agree with you 1958 its a very very tricky one but as I've always maintained your strongest team doesnt necessarily mean playing your best players.

My theory is that you could play him wide left and due his presence it would stretch the opposition backline similar to Henry at Barca. Almost a decoy. Unless Green can make wide left his its an area we'll continue to be weak in so Kodjia out there makes sense for me but Taylor will be more exposed. If Jedinak and Lansbury are paired up in the centre that'll protect Taylor more and with Hourihane free to reign further forward I think it could work.

Without Kodjia last season we could have been relegated; he was the only teeth we had. We have to see what he can do in an improved team setup. He said about the time he was injured that he was working on improving his working with other players.

Kodjia was our best player last season and without him we struggled to cause any kind of threat. One good game against Norwich (and a cup game against lower league opposition) without him doesn't mean we should just discard our best player. Yes he can be very wasteful but that's what you get at times with creative players.

I think he's better as a centre forward but he could be moved into the left if you want to play Hogan or Davis as well.

Johnstone

Chester Terry

Bree Jedi Bjarnason

Adomah Davis Kodjia Hogan Green

Oh for the good old days
