Bad luck for the lad. He's done us proud this season. Hope he comes back with no complications.

It will concentrate the mind in the coming transfer period. We need another proven striker. Hogan may yet come good if the playing style can be sorted out, and Gabby is just about a possibility, but even looking at those two optimistically we need more up front.

With no Kodjia to steal goals out of the blue, we really do have to sort out how we play.

Assuming he can get his personal shit together (and he hasn't fallen out with Bruce terminally), I 'd be interested to see how McCormack got on alongside Hogan.

Oh ffs, if this even encourages anyone in corridors of power to think about a contract extension for pieman then

Looked really innocuous at the game when he went down in front of us. Hope he has a clean and speedy recovery, ankle breaks can be complicated.

Kind of sums up the season and where the club is at. Struggling to recover and broken.

Or - I don't get all the fuss, we have still got our all time record PL goal scorer to count on. Who said that?

Yep, McCormack is in a mess but if he can sort it and get properly match fit then he could do a job for us. Still think we need another class forward though, if we can find one who'll play at our level.

Nice idea, but surely there is an element of contradiction there. 'Class forward' & 'our level'? I don't think even Lewandowski or Aubameyang would score too many with our tactics and midfield. Kodjia has performed miracles this season. I so hope we can keep him.

That's the problem, unless we unearth a 'gem' from the lower leagues (e.g. another Kodjia, a Chris Wood) which with our track record of signings, I won't be holding my breath!

What a player! Think it took some time to realise what a player we have. Must keep.

hope Kodjia is ready for the start of the season, a couple of goals in the opening game to get him back in the swing of things and smashing Hull City all over the park - that'll do me nicely.

Be fabulous if he is fit and ready. Want to see the other strikers compete with him this season and McCormack to live up to what he's done at other clubs, we could cruise the league if they all chip in.

For a second I thought this was a new injury with all posts being from today, but must be a glitch on the site as the article is from May. Essential he is fit for the start of the season as he will be on international duty at some stage.
