I'm sure there financial ramifications at play but I'd hate to see him go to a potential contender for promotion.

In my mind it's almost worth his wage to let him rot so he doesn't come back to do one over on us.

If he comes to VP as a Sunderland player you know he will grab 2 goals to nick it and celebrate like it's the World Cup.

I'd actually prefer to see him go to a promotion contender as it would weaken and disrupt their squad.

We are a club looking to gain automatic promotion, most likely selling to a club with play off aspirations or lower. Ross McCormack shouldn't be the difference when we meet.

Four clubs have an interest in him.
Sunderland, Reading, Derby and Hull.
That amount of interest should add a couple of million to the final fee.

I'd reduce it by a couple of million, just to make certain.

I'd rather he didn't go to a fellow promotion challenger, it would be our luck that he starts scoring again, or at least that he'd score against us!

He scored a load in a poor Fulham team.

Yeah, he was a knob. He was obviously going through something as well as being a knob.

We keep getting strikers who are proven scorers and they then don't score for us. We can't keep saying they are all crap can we?! They can't be as it's when they come to us they dry up.

SUPPLY... !

Very true JF. We have all said it for years now but nobody at VP seems to agree.

Only Codger has managed to score a hat full but he does tend to make his own chances.

Benteke did the same - people seem to conveniently forget that he was with us not long ago. At least he had a bit of service.

It says everything when our last 20 goal in a season striker was Peter With.

Agreed Fulford. Kodjia makes a lot of his own chances and as merd said, benteke (when he could be arsed and wasn't looking for his next move) could also make something out of nothing.

Most need supply. As you say, we've said it long enough. It's not rocket science is it?

Elmo , Green , Gabby can supply chances .
Not many other contributors, maybe Whelan with his raking paces

Gabby? Not seen him supply much over the years and yesterday his distribution at times was laughable.

Hope he proves me wrong this season if played.

Gabby did look sharp and fit , but as ever his touch , distribution and finishing weren't good .

When he was clean through in the second minute , there was no surprise around by me when he missed.

Gabby looked fitter than he has. Not difficult

Gabby missed a one on one.

Gabby ran fast breaking through a few times.

Gabby failed to find the clinical final ball.

One pass from inside the box went way out and Bruce had a fit about it.

So.... Same Gabby just he's, as he damn well should have, lost the extra timber.

What am I/are we missing Mr Bruce?

Still. Hopefully if he has to be used he will start scoring and setting up and we can wave bye bye next summer.
