Trump now saying he knew Moore couldn't win. He did want Luther Strange to stand, but he lost that battle as well, when Moore won the Primary. He then deleted every tweet supporting Strange (is that legal?).

Also, does this sound like Trump?

"Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!"

That was his tweet after the vote, but to me it's been written for him.

This is Alabama. It's been a long time since a Democrat won here. Maybe Trump is secretly working for the Democrats? He was a member until 2009.

Yes it certainly doesn't sound like a Trump tweet, and there are no CAPITALISED words to be seen! The quality of English used suggests Trump had nothing to do with it

I think the grammar and punctuation proves he didn't write that.

A good day gets better.

I liked the BBC correspondent's comment about the fact that if you had a pulse and an"R" after your name you could get elected in Alabama.
Not any more it seems.

US President Donald Trump has said he supports the FBI "100%", less than an hour after criticising the agency. During a speech at the FBI National Academy's graduation in Virginia, Mr Trump heaped praise on the agency, saying it was full of "great people". His visit comes only days after he described the agency as "in tatters" and "the worst in history".

Oh and those nasty FBI who insulted him.

Republicans have claimed that the text exchange proves an anti-Trump bias in the special investigation being led by former FBI director Robert Mueller, who is examining possible campaign collusion with Russia and meddling in the US election process. Mr Trump denies that his team colluded with Russia to get him elected. The two agents also reportedly insulted Democrats Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, as well as other prominent political figures, according to the contents of the text messages released to US Congress and obtained by US media.

So much winning!!

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/12/15/opinions/trump-judge-nominee-pete...

President Donald Trump's nomination of Matthew Spencer Petersen to a lifetime appointment as a federal district court judge demonstrates the President's utter contempt for the judiciary.

Since the primary job of a federal district court judge is to try cases, Kennedy began his examination with a very unusual question to the entire panel of aspiring federal judges: "Have any of you not tried a case to verdict in a courtroom?"

Petersen was the only nominee to raise his hand. He was about to have a very bad day.
