Missed a one on one after 90 seconds and is still making the same mistakes he was making at 19, except he's lost a fair bit of his pace. He will start over Hogan next week naturally.

Hope he doesnt start next week because that will flag up to the rest of the championship
that we are completely deviod of any attacking options if Kodja is out.

As Wittonite says, Gabby is still making the same errors he was making over a decade ago.
Whose fault is that though.
Well I think the blame is split equally between all of the managers and coaches he's had and himself.
The managers and coaches should have recognised where his weaknesses were and worked to eradicate them.
But then again, Gabby should have been working to get better, unless of course, he's always thought that he's always been the finished article.

I hate Gabby with a passion.
I hate him because with a very basic set of skills, he was given a golden opportunity to become a real genuine hero and a club legend.
And he threw it away because of his ego and own stupidity and laziness.
Over the years, I've seen hundreds of kids a third of Gabby's age, with a thousand times more ability than he's ever dreamed of having, working their socks off to improve what they've got, kids dreaming of having one chance to become a player for their local team, only to be disappointed.
I hate Gabby with a passion because he's literally pissed all over the aspirations of thousands of kids by being what he is.

We all know he is going to start at the week end....I've mentally prepared myself for it. !

We have to hit the ground running and an opening win would be a great tonic.

Is GA the man to score the goals I somewhat doubt it. (will be more than happy if I'm proved wrong)

I just don't like his face. It angers me to see it. He's the Donald Trump of the footballing world. His decision-making and intelligence are suspect. And I always fear there's another scandal around the corner. Has fooled people for years. I don't think there's any repemption for him. Burned his bridged long ago. He could score 100 goals this year and I'd still want him gone.

Shame. He had it all laid out for him.

Well I'm glad he's proving everyone wrong. He's looking sharp confident and more mature. Let's get behind the lad.

He knocked the ball into an empty net after having failed yet again in a one on one situation. He completley disappeared second half and looked totally knackered. As usual its contract negotiation time and hes looking to con everyone again. Hes not proving anyone wrong and is only in the side by default and a manager who seeme besoted with him and is desperate for a goal from anywhere.

Come on, that was a good goal. Probably better than the one they scored. Both Lansbury and Hogan should have done better to get on that cross, Gabby did it. The way he is playing at the moment he will cause problems for the opposition defence for a decent chunk of the match. In too many matches we haven't caused the opposition defence any problems at all.

He can't do 90 minutes though, maybe 60 at a push. Have Davis on the bench ready to take over. Not Samba!

I would agree that any goal is a good goal, but he has stolen a living from this club and by assocaition us as fans. Cant stand him and the sooner we are in a positon to do without his services the better.

He scored put in 45 minutes as good as anyone wearing claret & blue but yep agree with sirdennis he is not the answer over a season. Still think as a substitute he can make an impact but while I would love it doubt if he will ever be the force he was. Hogan is in need of a bit of luck
in front of goal needs a couple of tap ins to get him up and running.

Got to smile Mc Parland, on this post you are saying Hogan should have done better to get on the cross. Yesterday in the Andre Green thread you are saying" great assist by Hogan"
Which was it?

Err, I think your memory is a wee bit wobbly here, wittonite. Said nothing at all like that in the Andre Green thread.

I did say something like that after one of the pre-season games. Hogan showed some nice stuff in pre-season. Maybe in a real competitive game he's hasn't quite got his sharpness back.

He does look better than he has done for ages but still the same mistakes, he's a 30 year old teenager. He started on the left and actually looked dangerous for the 1st 10 minutes, missed a one on one but made up for it. After that though he kept coming inside every time, never made another run down the line no matter how much space he would have had. Even now he's slowed down a bit he's still quicker than most defenders so why oh why does he come inside where he'll get crowded out?
