Bruce saying it will be longer than three months, and the Mail speculating he might not play again this year.

Very hard luck on the lad, and us. Kidneys can be dodgy, but I'd be surprised if there's long term damage from that sort of injury. Suspect they're not taking any chances.

No it was a collision Deano , totally accidental.

And the person was............................ Tom Cleverley.

They are mates apparently and he has been in touch with Grealish.

Been given the number 10 shirt for the upcoming season so Bruce obviously had plans for him, he must be devo. Look at elphick for example being demoted down to 24 from (I think) number 6 which would show Bruce has no plans for him.

Collision pure accident. Grealish showing the determination we've wanted for him going for a header and bouncing off Cleverley in the process.

Think Bruce had him pencilled in at no. 10 (coincidence?) behind a lone striker, so some plans will have to change.

Jack Grealish is closing in on a return to full action for Aston Villa following the horrific injury he took in our pre season friendly with Watford.

Be interesting to see where he fits in with Bruce's plans now. If we play with a bit of swagger ala Norwich/Wigan and even Barnsley we'd probably see a very different player.

Read recently that he's back in the gym and doing light training to build up his fitness. Don't think they'll rush him back, will take time.

He needs to roll his sleeves up if he wants to get into the team.

Jack is a good prospect, but I think he needs a a lot of coaching to make him into a great footballer. He's too frustrating for me on occasions, there are times you want him to drive forward quickly but he showboats and there are times you want him to build up the play but he plays the wrong ball.

It looks to me from the stands his mentality is too much about him looking good rather than doing the right thing for the result at times.

Maybe he plays the wrong ball when there isn't a right ball to play. He looks good when there are good players around him putting in a shift.

Of course there is a way back. He's still young and very talented. We all want Jack to fulfill his potential.

Onomah wants to go back to Spurs at the end of season. He can go now as far as I'm concerned. Jack, Hourihane and Landsbury can all play that position.

One more thing, watch what happens when Jack comes on off the bench. He gets the ball and his first touch is forward. He lifts his head up looking for options and the opposition shit themselves. Game over. I haven't seen that at Villa In a long time.

I'm not a massive fan of Grealish, but he clearly has some talent. The next few months will be make or break for him at Villa in my opinion. If he has the desire to make his mark, we will see him in the team sooner or later.

He appears to me to have bulked up a bit on muscle? Maybe he has been working hard? I would like to see him given another chance as he does look positive when he comes on.
