3 months?! Oops.

You have to wonder if his career will ever fully get going...

That's a blow. He looked good Saturday in the No. 10 role. I can't see who is going to play in that position Saturday.

I don't know, I thought Lansbury did well there when Grealish went off

Back to thread though, it seemed such an innocuous tackle and look were it's landed him. Shame for the lad.

I was being sarcastic Pride!!

Lansbury is fast becoming my most hated Villa player of all time. I can't really explain why, although he is the very definition of a 'fancy dan' footballer.

What a terrible start to the season for young Jack.

I hope it's quicker than 3 months before we see him back.

So one 'fancy Dan' replaced another.
As I said in another thread, bringing Bacuna on was a decent move, on the face of it but, it fell down by playing him in Lansbury's holding role. Bacuna should have played Grealishs position. He was a forward central midfielder when he played in the Eriedivisie. He only became a 'Jack of all trades' because his club had a lot of injuries to important players and he is adaptable enough to fill in, not always well but, he does understand each job.

Don't understand this hatred for players who've only been with the club a short time. With the exception of Johnstone and Taylor, none of those bought last January have hit the ground running. The underlying reason may well be that last season we weren't really playing any sort of system; we were a mess.

If it's right to give Bruce time to sort it, then it's right to give those players time to settle into the system we're playing (whatever that is). We need more matches to make any judgement on any of them. Things can change fast.

I have seen enough to know I don't rate Lansbury. It is irrelevant how long he has been at the club, as far as I'm concerned.

He is not very good and he doesn't apply himself very well either.

Perhaps he will come good, perhaps he won't. If he does, I will be happy to revise my opinion of him. But as I say, I have seen enough to form an opinion.

Hourihane is the big disappointment for me JPA.
Touted as the championships best creator, he's done bugger all. His corners are only just as good as Westwood's and his free-kicks aren't that much better.

Terrible for Jack and the team as he's one of the few players we have with any creativity. An attacking midfielder is a must now, we've strikers who can score at this level so we need to get the supply right.

Oh JW, if you think Grealish is a creative player, I've got a wicker soup bowl I can sell you for the knockdown price of £250.000.

I agree with JW. Grealish looked sharp on Saturday and it was noticeable that he was looking to move the ball on quicker and also pass forwards more .

Have to agree about Lansbury and Hourihane - very disappointing so far, and you can add Thor to that aswell. Until Bruce sorts out centre midfield we will struggle to score enough goals - plenty of room for improvement in the middle of the park. But Whelan will help.

Still think we have to go out and get a playmaker number 10 with a bit of guile.

I am not exactly his biggest fan but this is desperate news for the kid. I feel really sorry for him.

Everyone knows how important this season is for him and then a freak like that happens.

Jack - i am one of your biggest critics but that is awful - get well soon and get back and prove me and some others wrong
