Sorry. You are all deluding yourselves if you think we are going to get out of this mess with a few extra cheers and a few less boos. It's an excuse poor teams/players use, just like the 'unlucky' nonsense that gets banded about on here most Monday mornings.
Perhaps this is the line of thinking, from Lambert, the players, and RL, that is leading us down to the 2nd Division.
"We just need a little bit of 'luck' chaps, and the fans off our backs, and we'll be flying up that table."
Again no one said that. No more than I would say having the best pair of trainers for each player would stave of relegation. it's one factor out of lots. Good support can lift teams, negative supporters can cower them.
I think we are in deep shit. But encouragement can help players. Will good support be what saves us or a lack of support what sends us down? No. It's one of many, many things that can affect a game and a performance. Like refs calls, ball boys wasting time, rain, a bad pitch,. There are millions of variables that can affect how well we play.
